People like Ross don't actually want to kill themselves. They just wheel out suicide threats to get sympathy and then when that starts to fail knock back a Febreze and coke mixer.

It seems very unlikely that he'd just top himself - it's much more likely he'll just have large number of 'unsuccessful' attempts. Of course from his warped perspective they're actually very successful because it gets him attention and sympathy.
