They are trying to copy the 2010 Republican Playbook, where the message is "We have no unifying message except we're against the other guys". While the millennials were and still now distracted by his dance and singing moves on Ellen, a lot of middle class workers and several of the Jimmy Dore progressives were quickly aware how full of shit Obama was. They made 2010 and 2014 a lesson for him for selling them out by voting out his party in office. Now, he personally got a break in 2012 despite the continued molesting his party was getting because Mitt Romany fucked up.

Bush shit the bed hard during his eight years and his party suffered for it, but once he left they quickly rebounded by distancing themselves from his bullshit he did and won back voters. If the Democrats want to pull this miracle, they need to admit Obama sucked hard.

To be fair, you have to have a really high IQ to understand Barrack Obama. The recovery policies are extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of economics most of the money will go over a typical deplorable head. There's also Obama's foreign outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterization- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Muslim literature, for instance. The liberals understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of Obama, to realize that he's not just great- He also says something deep about LIFE. I'm at the point where I think the leadership of the DNC is just clueless as to how this messaging/platform could fail, while the people they rely on to try to get their finger on the pulse of what the voters want are the socjus progressive types who believe their own hype.

I sometimes get the impression that the DNC leaders have been so rich for so long, they don't know how ordinary people live. They spend so much time focusing on the poor, they lose sight of the middle class entirely. And they're so used to being rich themselves, they can't fathom that most people are actually content to be middle class, or that middle-class living is actually quite comfortable.

So they divide the populace up, in their heads, between "rich people like me, except greedy and hateful" and "poor people with nothing", and then pander to the wider public with promises of gibsmedat--little realizing that for most of us who work hard, their programs put us in the "greedy rich people who will pay for this" category, while the people who don't actually do anything or shouldn't even be on this side of the border fall into the latter. (And they conveniently manage to exclude themselves from the payout group, too, which just gives it all a nice savor of hypocrisy.)

Now add a dash of the patrician patronage philosophy they've been operating from for the last century, where they feel they must be the guardians and keepers of the lesser people, and you've got yourself a recipe for "out of touch".

I highly doubt Bernie will run again he's way too old, especially Biden. My three predictions are Cumo, Booker and Harris. I doubt the Sanders wing will earn the nomination unfortunately.
