That is why so many of them disable ratings, comments, and replies. Many of them try to frame that they're so goddamned successful and enlightened but in truth it's little more than self-deception. There's an unspoken truism that drives every one of these ideologues fucking insane, and it's the foreknowledge that no matter what they do, what they attempt, or what they accomplish, their cause, in every sense of the word, is doomed. There simply is no way to prevent people from being assholes towards each other, and reality itself will never care about feelings, let alone who it spares and who it destroys. More critically: Most of them acknowledge that they lost the battle for public opinion ages ago, though they'll never word it that way (they instead will claim Nazis/Right-Wingers/etc dominate platforms). Their ideology is about as popular as an impacted bowel, and no amount of fronting or autistically screeching on Social Media will change this.

I disagree. While that's true of some at the top of the pyramid, those lower down are "true believers". They seem to genuinely believe that, once this next piece of legislation passes, once Alex Jones and Sargon are kicked off YouTube, once The Last of Us 2 enlightens the normies, once Drumpf is impeached, that everything will fall into place. That all their problems will be solved. It's just those alt-right neo-nazis and tech companies giving them a platform that cause their plans to fail.

Pretty weird, I just watched one of Lindybeige's tank videos this evening without knowing anything about this Kickstarter. I didn't know he was this based... Looks like I've got another project to support.

Veeeery very few. If Disney outsources the whole operation like they did for gaming they're going to be like fucking hawks when it comes to how those IPs will be used going forward after the EA debacle. I am, however, struggling to think of any publishing house that could cope with a sudden, massive influx of titles like that. Meaning we might see a hilarious bidding war break out as the other houses tear apart the body of Marvel to make imprints and you can bet there will be very very few former people hired on. Who the fuck wants to hire a major failure that killed one of the biggest, hottest IPs out there?

The so-called pros should be fucking embarrassed. Their "professional" garbage gets pulped after Marvel over-ships it and then none of it sells. Meanwhile, CGers make throwaway jokes and those get funded.

To break it down a little clumsily, there's clearly a small-ish group of people out there who're willing to throw money at the possible next wave of comics provided the artwork looks good and that could last. These people have mad bank with White Widow totting in at $73,000 across just 886 backers. Hannibal's coming in at $181,000 over 3,325. Heck, Iron Sights asked for just $10,000 measily dollars and racked in $110k. That's just on backers alone. I have no real clue of general sales and it doesn't really matter.

With it typically topping in at around the 3,000 mark on backers you can see why CG's detractors say it's a tiny minority. Problem is that tiny minority are the whales others have talked about and dear god they've spoken about where they want their dollars to go.

Reminds me of that social phenomenon regarding viral memes. It's not the actual numbers of people sharing it you need, it's that one very special person who just shares the fuck out of it. That's the key to being viral.

Shame that Marketing and PR Education is the exact fucking opposite of that, finding that whale and keeping it alive. Instead they find it and then think you squeeze the oil from its corpse, no... no, you farm the ambergris from it. Whales will always give you ambergris as long as they live. If you kill them, you kill the ability to keep making profit. Once all the whales are gone, you have no oil or ambergris.

We've seen pro's struggle to make $20k crowdfunding, if these dudes launch at the right time they could easily have a joke go $50k+

I didn't cap it but the other day i saw a twitter dude show receipts of ~$25k spent on comics last year and testified that 4? friends spent roughly the same amount. They went on to say that this years spending was ~2k, mostly due to comic pro attitudes. Now maybe $25k is excessive, but if they enjoy the hobby and can afford it then good for them. Anti-CG attitude was to laugh at them... Laughed at ~$100,000 walking out the door, for NO reason at all. Whales spend ridiculous amounts of money on properties they enjoy and it's why there is so much freemium/p2w/micro-transactions/loot boxes in the gaming sphere today.
