Got canceled at issue 3, they let her finish the arc.
If they had axed it at issue 3 (like they should have), this would never have happened. Marvel really dropped the ball and you can totally blame Bendis for it.

The full version is even worse. So she's saying we have a shrinking industry but guys like Richard are able to make HUGE bank because they capitalized on guys who feel insecure and powerless over a hobby they like. This is wrong and so these money-tossing guys should instead......???

It seems to be her shtick. She's the same lady who's come back to "The industry started bleeding faster once this group of writers were hired" was "Yeah but you can also claim it was bleeding faster when Trump was elected" which....is exactly what the person she's disagreeing was saying in terms of writers being obsessed with politics.
If big bucks people are "insecure, feel powerless, etc." and it's wrong that they circle Yaboi then either "those fuckers had it coming" or maybe you are alienating them in some manner. Oh no, now Ren's Comicsgate when you put the effort of finishing her ideas.

Jokes aside, proggies HAVE to neutralize any nonwhite criticism this way. After all, the constant refrains of 'white suhpremacee' and 'Pee-oh-cees are bein' oppressed' get a bit ragged if you get one of those people of color saying 'Er, excuse me, I'm not oppressed.'
It's like that scene at the start of Monty Python and the Holy Grail, but instead of 'bring out your dead' it's 'bring out your oppressed!'.

Not salt, but I figured I'd share this since it warmed my heart some. Apparently Doug was invited to EVS' stream and EVS turned it into a five hour Bigfoot Bill Telethon, they snagged an extra $14k, so Doug decided to thank the ComicsGate community. Kinda amazing how different professional behavior is from a - more or less - freelancer when compared to actual "professionals". Also apparently Doug will smash his face in a pie for passing $100k, so look forward to that.

But back to the current day - this month has been worse for the industry overall than September last year, but Marvel has sold more copies of a couple of lines of flagship books (but they have been doing terribly in recent years and the sales are only remarkable because they're being compared to large failures in previous years):
"That was a $43.52 million month, and while it closed out the worst quarter year-over-year (off nearly 16% in dollar terms) in nearly a decade and a half, it was the best of the three summer months in comparison with the same month the previous year. Marvel sales were up year-over-year, breaking a long slump, thanks to the chart-topping Marvel Legacy #1."
Obviously, the month isn't over yet, though.
Weirdly, the site has listings for months that haven't happened yet, they seem to be using some kind of automation that uses existing statistics for the year, compares them to previous years, creates sentences comparing them, and then automatically generates an article. December 2018:

Regardless of all this, I seem to remember D&C saying in an old video that the sales figures are due to the comics companies forcing bookstores to buy set amounts of books and won't refund them for unsold copies (which is why so many shops are going out of business) and that stores that refuse to do this are blacklisted. Dusty has been screeching since loosing his job for attempting a hit piece on CG, those 7 likes are probably the most engagement he's had since then.
Compare his behaviour to one Mark Waid. Doug has been on multiple streams and getting blown the fuck out by fans for his attitude and behaviours - leading to many nicknames 'smug Doug, dirty Doug, dirtworm Doug' and people super chatting just to insult him. On the telethon stream another CG personality (Cecil) came on with the name 'Smuglas', Doug's face as a profile picture and talked in his cadence and acted like a bit of a smug jerk. Doug laughed this off and it helped him make money because the chat loved it.
Mark Waid on the other hand had an interview live-stream with EVS when he had ~1/4 of the subscribers and no superchats (have to double check) just regular chat. During the stream their was a person in the chat with the name and profile of Mark Waid and was having some bantz, i don't think anything particularly awful was said. The stream finished and no real outrage or anything really happened, until somebody told MW about the person in the chat. MW flipped his shit ranting online and in emails to EVS and essentially ended a friendship / acquaintance of 15? years. All for something EVS had no control over.

It's a bit more insidious than that: Marvel insists that comic shop owners buy a minimum amount of the lowselling titles to even qualify for ordering the better selling comics and merch...and even after that they overship the lowselling ones.
