Unpopular Opinions about Video Games

Death Stranding looks great and I'm going to buy the collector's edition.

Card based battle system is best battle system.

Muh wild hunt plotline was garbage. They should have gone with the prototype TW3 build which focused on the civil war/follow up from TW2.

Digimon games > Pokemon games

The Mega Man Battle Network franchise was extremely underrated.

I never liked the Mr. Freeze boss fight from Arkham City. I think it's tedious and annoying more than anything, and a major reason I don't replay the game too often.

I think Chris Avellone is basically the rpg world's Hideo Kojima. When he has someone keeping him on track and saying "no you can't do that it's stupid" he makes great shit (Fallout New Vegas,) but when he's left to his own devices and no one tells him no he makes mediocre confusing shit.

eSports will be the death of gaming. Unsure if thats an unpopular opinion but i'm sick of devs catering to the eSports crowd.

If it's a game that was obviously always meant to be played online against groups of people like Overwatch, I'm not particularly bothered, but it is annoying when you're playing a game in a series that used to be single-player offline and you're forced to sign in online even just to play single-player career mode because of an eSports mode in the same game. I know Sony/Polyphonic claim that the FiA mandates that Gran Turismo Sport always be online (except for arcade mode) to prevent people cheating in career mode to level up in online mode, but I wish they'd give us the option to not install anything related to eSports in exchange for an offline career mode.

I sort of agree. I generally like the stuff that he does when he collaborates with others, but he gets some weird ideas when he does something alone, like when he wrote New Vegas' Lonesome Road DLC. Given the hateboner he has for the NCR (or just progress for the wasteland in general), of course he would make it a point that the resident Trog reskins will somehow annihilate the Mojave and the NCR in the near future.

I also liked how he managed to give a blank-slate character a concrete backstory. Sure, you could say that his avatar was lying or got the wrong guy, but then that would mean that the guy they've been hyping over the course of the game and DLCs is a complete moron, so pick your poison.

Yeah, I'm not exactly a fan of that DLC. Felt like someone needed to reign him in a bit.

The western Kojima

Extremely talented
Writes weird shit
Has beloved IP controlled by corporation that randomly hates him
Probably likes burgers

That's not much of an unpopular opinion. Most of the time I hear dislike about Battle Network it had more to do with classic fans disliking the fact they changed the formula from a sidescroller to a card based one. Most people who play the games really like them.
I don't like the Metal Gear Solid sequels.
What about 3 tho

I actually don't like any of the Metal Gear games, and I've played pretty much all of them, even the one on the NES. I like the memes, but the games themselves are generic and shit. Maybe at the time they were good, but even the modern ones fall flat, like Phantom Pain. Fuck is special about them? I'd rather replay Thief 1 20 times than replay any MGS.

I don't Battle Network 4 is underrated though, I played 3 bright before it and it was by a certain point that i realized i wasn't having as much fun so ilooked it up and i still don't get why they wanted people to finish the game 3 times to get the actual full ending or and the villain was a step down from Wily

Megaman 4 > Megaman 2. The weapons are much more balanced, I love the charge shot, and nothing like the stupid crash bomb boss is in it.
