Because ZOMG CUTE = rapid success in the fandom. Just look at all the YouTubers with subpar content but ZOMG THEIR CHARACTER IS SO CUUUUUTE so who cares about the content's actual quality.

It isn't that they're cute. The suits are legitimately at a high level of quality, especially compared to amerishit. Almost all of their flaws are in regards to customer service or the suits themselves being physically uncomfortable to wear. They also don't look creepy like american suits do. K-LINE is legit top 1% in the furry fandom.

Americans don't put any padding in their suits and they get this weird ass plunger foot look going. A fursuit should not be a baggy coverall.

It has less to do with the suits and more the fact that in the furry fandom, popularity comes down to how much porn you get or if you act cute in a fursuit you spent money on then film it yourself (or have others film it for their channels). It's a fandom where people will want to fuck you based on your Steam icon.

You'd be surprised at how much people in the fandom actually give a shit about quality or the reason of something's pure existence in the fandom is. They e621 has enough of a brain to not let degenerates like Jasonafex and his fanboys host his shit on their own site which is literally an archive for fur porn.

I remember the endless controversies shortly before they were all removed from e621 as well, and that's why his stuff was removed I'm pretty sure.

Tbh they're pretty adorable. Most fursuits look as gross as the people inside them, with the combination of sameface (always a dog no matter what animal it supposedly is) and uncanny valley. Still, even these look creepy not because of their actual appearance but because you know what's inside them.

Most of the people in K-LINE suits end up being like, asian or something. Not as bad as you'd think. The few instances of english speaking people in possession of one are exceptions rather than rules. It might of changed since but I remember it being a big deal if a westerner got accepted for the applications.
