Okay, time to give running commentary on Dave's new &/or hot Street Fighter kahntent. You'll be :horrifying: to know that we're seeing SOME improvement. Very, very minor improvement. Now Dave will throw out Sagget's roundhouse kick to fish for crush counters! He won't follow up on them, though. His footsies are still mostly consistent of "Throw a move. Throw it again. Throw a different move. Go back to the first move."
The rest is the same old same old. Fishing for tiger uppercuts, filtering out PC users because of fear, and he's apparently gonna make a habit out of ragelisting people so he doesn't have to play them again. Some fairly good Juri player joins Chun Li Forever in Dave's doghouse. He was possibly launching into a rant about how they were both mentally ill detractors and the like, but switched mid track to "Their connections suck" and sticked with it. "They just skip frames dood! Juri has much better mid range moves than Sagget and I can't do anything about it!"
He was a sad, salty sausage for a lot of it. It's clear as day he just throws his excuses no matter what. He's playing a Kolin, throws a predictable random EX DP because he's feeling an ounce of pressure and he can't deal. As he drops, straight into Kolin's loving fist to his gonads for a delicious Crush combo, Darksfadil lights up in the loveseat. "I couldn't seeee! The game skipped frames, dood! I couldn't tell what he was doing!" He blocked and punished your scrub tactics. That you couldn't see is pointless, because fucked up panic DPs get crush countered no matter what. You can tell he thinks CCs are bullshit. He played some ranked games (Accidentally) and raised up a little bit, which means he's fighting marginally more competent people. As we see more crush counters, I think we can expect a "That's not street fighter!" rant about Crush Counter Khambos at some point.
His new go-to seems to be "Skipped frames of animation." I mean, I'm like 90% sure you can't really see AND react to a jab, because that's 3 frames in most cases. It's a 20th part of a second. Silly excuse, Dum Dave, get a new one. At one point, I believe it was in the same Kolin (Collin) match he drops a new nugget of wisdom about how, surprise surprise, "He's doing really hard reactionary gameplay, and all these scrubs and little kids can just guess a jump-in and get a massive khambo that has 0 execution involved, because it's all dial-a-khambos now." Feel free to meme on it, of course. "SITTING HERE WAITING FOR YOU TO JUMP AND EAT THE RRRAAAAWWW DP IS THE HARD PART! STRINGING AN OFFENSE TOGETHER IS VERY-EASY!" He's also picked up a bad habit of EX DP every time he's succesfully jumped at, probably out of fear for grabs or mixups. It tends to work, too, so snipers beware.
He also hates Ken because he has this silly Shinryuken V-Trigger now and he's Dial-A-Khambo shit for scrub players only. His combos require 0 skill, you guys. I mean they're not exactly 1 frame links, but Ken still has plenty of fancy stuff. Even his jab-Chin Buster-Shoryuken is much harder than anything Darksfadil has busted out lately. Not that most Ken players even do it, though. Maybe it's not in the game any more? I don't know.
He's trying Abigail next session. I doubt he'll be able or even willing to learn any useful combos or offensive setups, so he'll probably dislike and quit him pretty fast. I don't know if he's dreading running to Guile or something, but to be perfectly honest, Guile is very strong and quite suited to sitting there and waiting for the other guy to run into you. You don't even need to do fancy combos to be good with him, so it really is a no brainer. He's perfect for Phil, but whatever.
Now, moving on to SC. As usual he's a BIG fan. He's watched the original in Japanese, he knows how Raditz is the original Vegeta, all the good stuff. Played 'em all, sister. That's how he knows Voldo's backdown B is totally a really good move. For the record, it's a situational as balls overhead that highcrushes. I think it had some pretty finicky GI frames in V, but still, frame data was fairly horrible, forced crouch on Voldo, not really a move you'd see used very often. He's only played SCV EXCLUSIVELY offline and you can watch it on his DSPStreetFighter channel. The usual stuff. Refusing to even go through the movelist before playing arcade on normal, sucking, not really grasping how to stop sidesteps and the ahnline matches either didn't exist or weren't uploaded.
If he were smart, he'd pick something braindead like Astaroth and try to make his long range and high damage work in his favour against inexperienced players for the 2 maybe 3 streams he's gonna give it anyway. There are three characters in SC that suit him. Luckily for Dave, all 3 made the cut already. Zasalamel who basically sits there and throws safe counterlaunchers of a sort, is slow but not super slow and has some fairly good panic moves. Astaroth, who's acquired some infamy over being a thicc moron over the years and has pretty disgusting damage and range, although competent players can usually dismantle him fairly quick. And finally Siegfried, who's pretty straightforward to use at a basic level, but there's definitely some more depth to him with his just frames and stance dances.
Knowing Phil, he'll probably pick one of the harder-but-not-really characters and utterly suck with them, then run to something safe but not well suited to him like Mitsurugi or Kilik. Then try to use crappy panic moves as "Timed reversals, dood" and hope they beat everything, then inevitably get mad when they don't. I mean, the way he used Paul's shoulder bash in Tekken 7, you'd think he expected it to have I-frames... Oh, and I vote he won't like Reversal Edge. He didn't like Rage in Tekken, which I can understand, but I think RE and the meters in SCVI are going to be at least a little better.
