Artcow Michael John Kricfalusi / John Kricfalusi / John K. / John K. Stuff / Raymond Spum - scammer animator who pissed away his own career, salty blogger, CONFIRMED predator and child rapist

Please God let Craig Bartlett be normal.

Edited to add: I used to be FB friends with John K for years until I nuked my SM. I don't remember if I was 17 or 18 when he added me, but he was always quick to respond to messages and quick to interact. I remember being starstruck and wanting to brag about it to people irl, but they had no idea who or what I was talking about. Just as well.
The only thing I really know about Craig Bartlett's personal life is that he's married to Matt Groening's sister. Incidentally, Craig directed a couple of episodes in the final Games season of R&S (one of them being the Reverend Jack Cheese episode that mocked John K. I don't think that Craig ever worked on R&S until after John was fired, I do know that he was working on the first few seasons of Rugrats during the time when John was still working for Nick)

He was working on Rugrats before it first ended production when the John K. drama was going on. When he came to Ren and Stimpy near the show's end, it was only because Nick put him on the show to keep him working until production on Hey Arnold started.

Ever since mid-2016 John K. has rejected offers to be in the Ren and Stimpy documentary. However, not too long ago John changed his mind and did an interview for the documentary.

Now - why do you think he did that?...

Isnt it a bit late to make a Ren and Stimpy documentry? like, REALLY late? Johnks more than likely eager to play a "pity card" after the recent revelations.

Also, does this pitch make Johnk a brony?

Nah, the nostalgia boner for that era of entertainment is only going to get stronger, not softer, as the demographic that grew up in that period ages.

I think I'll add "I'm so sick of the 90s" to my Unpopular Opinions list. Especially since it is completely entirely forbidden to criticize that era, less you be deemed a deranged lunatic.

EDIT: Given a few the ratings of this comment I think I've proven my case.

I still love Ren & Stimpy but I have little nostalgia of the 90's. 90's kind of sucked in a lot of ways except when it comes to music. Oh, and the 16 and 32 bit eras of games was fun. That's about it.

Most of the games from that time were good, though our current arena-shooter (or whatever you call Fortnite/Overwatch clones) era is a bit of a mirror of the Mascot wars from back then.

As a gearhead I thought that 90s car styling sucked, everything was a similar blobby soap bar (I was more into old muscle cars), internet folklore loves to glorify that era though.

This has been in the works for a while, since 2015 at least.

The filmmakers have written something on their Indiegogo about their decision to interview John K. They will not be whitewashing anything about him, and will still be clear John caused a lot of hurt in his wake.

No sympathy for these doc-maker chodes. They knew what they were getting into after just talking to a few people, Sick Little Monkeys had been out for years-- yet until the BuzzFeed article they were hellbent on doing their "farts and smiles" family-friendly approach. I'd rather see a doc about JK's crimes and misdemeanors than this. I mean, for starters, who the fuck is going to distribute a R&S doc now!?

Even though Matt and Trey deny being Ren & Stimpy fans, I would like to point out that South Park is the only place other than R&S where I've ever heard the phrase "You sick little monkey!" I'm probably reading too much into this though...I agree that the whole talking poo thing was a coincidence and believe Trey when he says that he created Mr. Hanky in high school.

You are reading too much into it. They aren't fans at all.

The main reason for all this 90s nostalgia is probably just that "everything was better when I was a kid" attitude. And also probably because of the fact that it was before things like Columbine and 9/11 happened.

The 90s were a magical time when we hadn't yet discovered just how fucked we are as a species.

Is there anything about John we haven't covered? I'm pretty certain there's a lot of stuff about him out there that hasn't been mentioned here yet.
I'm still waiting to hear Bakshis input on this whole thing, last I heard he wasnt happy about Johns scam-raiser (meanwhile Bakshi was able to complete his own and lets people watch it online for free).

Heres an ancient Toonzone post about JohnK
https://animesuperhero.com/forums/threads/a-great-speech-from-john-k.3931251/

Heres a feedback thing for the Adult Party cartoon, but if you look through it theres a few comments on how John is/was himself: http://www.michaelbarrier.com/Feedback/feedback_ren_stimpy.htm

And in case if I havent linked it, Micheal Barrier talks with Johnk one on one here, and we learn that Johnk doesnt like Carl Barks's work:
http://www.michaelbarrier.com/Feedback/feedback_johnk.htm

I cant find the link atm but there was another older interview with Johnk with user/fan submitted questions, whenever someone asked for his opnion on a newer cartoon (Rocko, Zim) he'd just shut them down completely.
