It pretty much proves the fact that despite being on opposite sides of the political spectrum, the far-left and far-right are equally bad. When you boil the extremes of both sides down to tactics and attitude they are literally the same thing and because of that people can mistake members of one extreme end for the other.

The problem is that they lack self-awareness or are too stubborn to listen to an outsider's perspective of both sides.

It’s wild how I can watch a youtube video for an hour, think ‘something doesn’t add up here’ as I hear a manly voice coming out of an avatar with large boobs gradually complain more and more about nazis, google ‘lily orchard kiwifarms’ on a whim and find a thread with 250+ pages of content.

Granted, I've seen a few videos from their channel before, in the last two months, and I hadn't seen anything that set off any big red flags to me. That said, I only found myself watching a few short videos here and there, as well as their Legend of Korra review, and I don't even remember the shorter videos. It never really occurred to me that they might be a bit "off" until the Steven Universe video.

I mean, there was also the very masculine voice with the female avatar, but that wasn't really a big deal to me. I thought it was ironic at first, and then I sort of assumed from listening that they were Trans, and I didn't really mind or care that much, but I digress.

The Steven Universe video started off pretty decent IMO, with the shit about hiatuses and the varying quality of animation, lack of Pre-Production, etc.; I like the show a lot, but I have really grown a bit critical recently, so I found that video somewhat entertaining at first, but then they started likening the Diamonds to Nazis, calling Sugar & Co. Alt-Right Apologists, and talking about how moderate White people were problematic, and then I looked and noticed that the video wasn't even halfway through, and got the idea that I was in for about two hours of sperging out over imaginary Nazis by a person who was looking a little too deep into a show meant primarily for younger people.

Sort of funny, though, I knew that Lilly Orchard was heavy into MLP stuff prior to that video, just seeing video titles, but to learn that they're actually reviled by the MLP Fandom at large is sort of funny, in an ironic manner.

Well in a way it calls to mind a saying from William F Buckley Jr. He brought up the example of one person who shoves a little old lady out of the way of an oncoming bus vs one who shoves a little old lady into the way of an oncoming bus. It's rather like saying that as you get more extreme in trying to save vs kill little old ladies, you both resort to shoving them around. See how alike they are?

Though I wouldn't apply it in this particular case of alt-right vs ctrl-left they really are trying to become each other.

That includes magic that other species would have, like a changeling being able to change their appearance or absorb love. Hell it kinda had to be Cozy Glow since she'd be the reason to "redeem" the Chancellor character. Since it would show him that his fellow ponies are capable of threatening the country instead of the creatures.

Oh please. That's the exact reason why he doesn't want Cozy Glow there at all. The idea of a racist character seeing the error of his ways goes against his narrative of all racists/equally evil people being irredeemable.

An evil character who would make another evil character realistically think twice about their own motives and show that they're not rotten to the core doesn't fit with Jerry's black and white fantasy.

I always find it interesting how the people who most see things in black and white, and believe that people who do "bad" things are completely irredeemable, are usually the first ones with a million excuses for why they shouldn't continue to be held accountable for the horrible shit THEY'VE done before.
