Swedish pupils are usually taught about the Atlantic Slave Trade and American/European colonialism in 8th-9th grade. Sweden actually has a history of colonialism, however, whatever little colonial influence we had on the indigeneous peoples that lived in those areas has been lost to history/whoever took over after us (if anything, we have mostly oppressed other fellow whites) and not many people are aware of it. Of course, that doesn’t stop exceptional people like Torbjörn from wanting to copy American identity political discourse because they believe Sweden has the exact same social and cultural dynamics as the United States.

Yeah, this is the faggot responsible for the FE: Fates "Gay Conversion Therapy" controversy, and, with help from fellow ideologues in the gaming press and translation pit - people who all have threads on this website, mind you (Alison Rapp, Jed Whitaker, et al), successfully got huge swaths of said game censored or altered, to the point where we unquestionably got an inferior product. Angry Forehead now argues that he's faced death threats and been ever-so-harassed for these claims, and he keeps trying to cause another fucking incident that he can then inflate into an incident like the above since it's literally the last time he was relevant.

From what I saw of it, the censorship controversies weren't even close to the worst thing that went wrong with the game, just a very visible symptom of it. Treehouse was so bloated and disorganized that maybe a good half of the game's text and audio didn't have a proper translation, with a lot of it instead being replaced by whatever the devs thought would be funny at the time. What Torbjörn was so pissed off about turned out to be just one dialog tree that the writers probably would've replaced with something stupid anyway. It was disappointing as hell and the main reason I personally ended up not buying it.

Either way, no way is this dude getting literally assaulted for his dumbass internet opinions. How is he encountering all these rapists and murderers if he doesn't even go outside for anything but weebshit?

You'd be surprised. There's what the government of sweden does, then there's how swedes actually treat non white people. I was in Sweden this year with my family and family friends (none of us are white). My mom pointed out how people were staring at us a lot and making dirty looks.

The most racist guy I ever met was a Swede. He'd go on theses long rants about how 'dog fucking Muslims' were draining the economy and running the price of everything up. He was having a hard time finding an apartment, and he'd bitch at length about how all the Syrian 'parasites' had filed them up. Most of these rants came out of nowhere (I met him on a Discord server for an old mmo, so it wasn't like the racism was even kind of appropriate) and they were very hard to listen to. I've met racist white southerners before, but none of them had near the level of anger and hate in their voice like this guy did.

I mostly have experience with the more conservative regions of Scandinavia, but i would say that racism is pretty damn socially acceptable. So is most forms of bigotry and because the culture kind of disencourages people from getting outraged/regarding themselves in as individualistic terms as say the us, a lot of it is swept under the rug/downplayed. White people here can drop the hard N or be in brownface on tv without expecting any harsh backlash, and many people openly use slurs to refer to various demographics. (Even to our faces)

So yeah, behind the liberal facade there is a kinda foul underbelly that many people dont like to aknowledge

Yet people get fired when they vote for SD. I’ve never seen anyone get away with saying ”nigger” (or ’neger’, as we don’t differentiate between nigga/nigger) or putting on a blackface. In the more rural towns, using racist terms is pretty accepted and no one really cares, but if you’re in one of the bigger cities, people will seriously stop being friends with you if you say ”neger” once. Haven’t tried it myself but it’s not uncommon. As you said, your experience might be the case in the more conservative parts of the country, but you’d never get away with it in the city. Ever.

Yeah, I can't speak for Norway and Denmark, but it's definitely untrue that you can say "neger" on Swedish TV without facing backlash. There was even a woman who was kicked from a TV program on TV4 a few years ago because of her use of the word (look up Louise Andersson Bodin).

However, it is correct that despite what some of our politicians might want you to believe, your average Swede is not a multiculturalism loving social justice activist. For example, this study shows that there has been widespread support for stricter immigration policies since at least 1987.
