Damn, those guys have actually given phil hundreds of dollars? That's a lot of money (or time if watching ads) to give someone that hates you.
How do they all keep getting their subs gifted to them? Are they all really good friends with true dsp fans who renew them every month (I think newface has a 6 month badge). Why do these true dsp fans keep gifting subs to people they know just use them as protection to get away with trolling and being negative in chat when they know phil wants his chat to be pahsitive and meme free? Why are they "friends" with people they know "harass" their favorite twitch personality? I know how stupid these questions are since it's impossible to make sense of the things people who hang out in dsp's chat do but it still seems weird to me.
Honestly, most of the time it’s random really. Mark loves gifting subs, or it’s just a random dsp fan gifting subs out. I honestly don’t know how they do it. Just luck, I guess
After the introduction of "Community Gift Subscriptions”, there's an element of randomness. Anyone following has the potential to get one. On top of that, I'd seen Kozatof mention in TXT's chat that he'd been gifted a 6-Month. So I'm guessing that the Old-Guard has used that as a “system of protection”.
As I understand The Divine Herd: Though the world Phil orchestrates around him is “Black-and-White”, “All-or-Nothing”, “Us and Them”, the particles around him are “on a spectrum” of conformity. According to
@BSV , Phil is more “background noise” for the Old-Guard community that's formed in his chat, being True and Honest fans to varying degrees. Within the Old-Guard, there is a smaller community, those that made up of the genuinely trollish “Bully Campaigners”. The particles of the two networks intermingle more or less freely.
He hates the multiplayer team-based stuff for the simple fact, as stated, that he sucks donkey dick at it.
I caught enough of Phil's anti-Modern-Shooters rant last night to learn that, according to him, he loved Unreal Tournament. Modern Shooters are bad because they're not skill-based, like Unreal Tournament was.
If you read this thread Phil, I hope I poisoned some minds today by pointing out that there is literally no incentive to sub since you just blow off sub goals anyway.
Because The Divine Herd is a “spectrum” of True and Honest fans, a good deal of them largely know whatever seedy thing could be revealed to them about Phil. The more ascendant of the Herd even keep-up with “Detractor” channels. I imagine the Sunk Cost Fallacy plays a part in all this, as well as resentment against those they've committed time to fighting.
