It's like that thing with animals, persistence of something maybe, I don't think Wu really gets that Lynch existed and had a life like everyone else before he came to Wu's attention and became... I don't want to call him Wu's nemesis, fucking Skeletor had more success against He-Man than Wu has had against Lynch.

And stupid, too. First, allowing the gay panic defense wouldn't have gotten Shepard off scot-free; he actually used the gay panic defense and it didn't work. When that defense has been used successfully, it's almost entirely as a mitigating factor taking into account the emotional state of the defendant, resulting in a possibly lesser sentence, not as something to get someone acquitted.
Wu is simply amazing. Even when the subject is things in her wheelhouse, she's actually not smart enough to get them right. I don't think she's trying to be misleading here, I think she's actually just this dumb.

John still hasn't figured out a way to parlay being a "victim of GamerGate" into a political platform, so he's emphasising being a woman. His actual political goals do not go beyond "get elected" or even just "get attention". He has no actual ideas or opinions to run with; he just uses false identity claims as election platforms and gets support among dumbfuck leftists by parroting expedient sentiments on Twitter. He has no substance as a human, no thoughts or ideas of his own and no goals except to get attention and money. It's honestly scary. It's the kind of hollowness you see in serial killers, which is apt since if he somehow becomes big news politically then the born-a-man Sword of Damocles will fall and he'll probably shoot up a Porsche dealership.

John's a sociopath but I don't see him ever having the balls (lol) to be a murderer. He's way too cowardly to ever try a true physical assault on someone outside of the occasional tossed iPad. He'd much rather use his connections and influence to attack people in different ways like getting them deplatformed or fired. In a lot of ways, I see Brianna more as a failed L Ron Hubbard.
