Inactive Andrew Dobson / Tom Preston / CattyN - STOP DOING SEXIST CRAP

When people kept saying Dobson has been degrading in artistic skill, I see what they meant now.

He doesn't even draw anymore.

Twice Upon a Time is actually pretty cool. I'd almost compare it in a sense to Ralph Bakshi's Wizards; the humor's got an edge to it and it's stylistically super interesting. A rather underseen animated film in an era that wasn't completely populated by Disney.

While Dobson's take on the character is a bit wonky (again, it's Dobson's lack of design chops that are his biggest hinderance here), he at least tried something new, probably the most 'experimental' he's ever gotten.

Which accurately describes his reaction to explaining any of his supposed beliefs. Sometimes he remembers the excuse a lot of other NPCs use, "It's not my job to educate you", but more often he just goes "Uh, it's obvious, duh!" until he blocks whoever.

On consideration I'm actually kind of glad Dobson doesnt share my views on a lot of subject. When he does he makes them look really bad because he's so terrible at discussing them.

Dobson continues his quest to find the most simplistic animated characters in history to draw in the laziest way possible. This time a character that is literally made of 4 or 5 flat cut-out pieces.

By the end of the month he will be drawing a circle with two dots for eyes and calling it a day.

I'm waiting for the character that offered Peter Griffin a stick job.

Speaking of...

Sorry for going off on a tangent, but apart from ol' Hotdiggeddydemon's excellent point I'm always pissed off by the attitude of idiots like Hari Kondabolu that accents inherently reflect poor education or the lack of intelligence. Everybody with even a rudimentary interest in linguistics knows that, while a good background and studies can help, having an accent is about training the myriads of delicate muscles in your oral cavity the proper way rather than a question of congitive skills or learnedness. Each language utilizes the muscles in your mouth and tongue differently, which is why sometimes even exceptionally smart people living abroad for an extended time still retain their foreign accent, or tend to lose their original ones. It's like trying ascertain a boxer's academic skills through observing how he practices his fighting moves.

When asswipes like Kondabolu whine about how Apu's accent reflects poorly of Indians it comes across more as him being a classist prick who shames other Indian Americans who didn't have his privilege of wealthy, educated parents in high position (his dad is chief technologist at a cardiology lab) providing him with the chance to consciously work on his accent and study social sciences rather than having to work hard and study something you can actually earn money with without the safety net of fairly rich parents, unlike some of his less well off yet more self-made fellow Indian Americans.

It especially ruffles my feathers (ha!) since, while I have a fairly good English and German accent as I was able to absorb both languages since my childhood, I have lots of fellow non-native English\German speakers who have thicker accents and get treated like witless idiots despite most of them having great grammar and vocabulary. IMO that's way more infuriating than a couple friends playfully mocking your accent. With all his chest pounding about racism and bullying, to me Kondabolu just comes across as a privileged brat who tries to put down less fortunate people who live in the real world and had to work harder than him.

Or he could just illustrate his old SYAC backgrounds.

Yeah when it comes to people bitching about accurate representations of Asians, it’s always some lame ass from California or New York, or anywhere progressive. Social Sciences is great sometimes, but when it creates morons like Kondabolu, it really makes me concerned.

Didn’t Andy say anything about 3d modeling and rigging? Is his last inktober related to this?
I don't think so.

If that were the case, then he should have been offended by over half the cast over their accents alone.

Yeah, it's not like the Simpsons is a satirical comedy show or something! Not to mention how Apu's like one of the most well adjusted characters in the entire series.

Apu isn't a harmful stereotype, he's a role model.
But nope, he talks funny in a comedy show, so Matt Groening is Hitler.

This is why SJWs utterly lack a humor gene, they can't process that things can happen in jest, exaggerated stereotyping is never done merely for a laugh, it's always a hidden "dog whistle" so you can flex your racism and bigotry muscle in public without anyone knowing, too bad we SJWs were too smart and figured it out and caught all you racists!

This is also why they pull the "It's just a joke" when one of their rallying cries to conjure a shame mob fails, to them, there is no humor for humor's sake, it's only ever done to enforce social power.
