A particular focus on the metrics that were discovered regarding the number of dropped or unanswered calls, as well as a summary of the various failures of TLL to prevent suicides would not be unwise. Additionally, the lackluster and incomplete training given to operators would be a topic to delve into.

Data is always good. Demonstrating that they answered a shockingly low percentage of calls despite their resources is what pushes this from a story of simple mismanagement into one about pure fraud.

There's more background to the Elizabeth Waite stuff like a TLL volunteer knowing that she'd overdosed and assuming she'd sleep it off, but it spreads over a lot of pages of the thread and can't really be explained concisely to people who don't know anything about the players in the drama.

The other stuff is important - Greta coming to your house, attempts to exploit suicides TLL was complicit in, but for my money, nothing is quite so damning as @LordKaT's investigation into TLL's fuckups.

To me it's sad that something that advertises itself as serving a niche with a high than average suicide rate just never really served that niche and instead was just a giant pile of fun money. Pretty disgusting, which is why I was glad they were ousted and under investigation. I'm hoping that the new blood, even if they are crazy nutbags, will at least direct the service towards improving things.

Of course, looking at it now, it doesn't really look like that's the case, but eh, we'll see.
