Politics aside, I suspect the reason Blaire upsets these people, is because they deny them their safe space online and because her ability to pass highlights their inabilty to do so.

She brings the brutal truth that the internet is not some sort of wonderful dimension you escape to and some people do achieve what they strive to be.
