No I am serious, though I may be misguided. I posted there for a bit, in the immediate aftermath of neogaf. I mainly stuck to the videogames half, but it struck me that there was far fewer bannings in the early days/months.

Though of course, it may be classic confirmation bias in that I didn't see the lunacy on the politics side until I started posting there. At which point I lasted about 2 weeks before getting a warning, then ban, then perma. All those infractions hahahaha.

Every cloud though, I wouldn't have stumbled upon this den of sanity otherwise.

I'm annoyed with IMC for exaggerating the "ResetEra is doxing people" narrative without any evidence. He doesn't even bother to cite the the hardest piece of evidence that I'm currently aware of, which is Hecht liking a tweet thanking him for the info: https://archive.fo/ESMKu

Now OneAngryGamer is just lazily citing IMC in his story. There's something worth reporting on here but they're fucking it up through incompetence.

It's pretty surreal to imagine a "games forum" where you literally get banned for saying you're buying a game, and for some reason, they expect to have influence in an industry that only exists because they sell games.

I mean NeoGAF was pretty much like that at the end, too, but they weren't stupid enough to make it that obvious.

And as for their political leanings, they've made it clear numerous times in the past that they aren't going to pick a side and their employees are free to support whoever they want (so long as they work 20 hours a day).
