I've only ever been a lurker at Gaf (it took me a year to get an account and by then I didn't care) but it's much more enjoyable to read now. The collapse was probably the best thing to happen to that site.

I thought about something today, now I know a lot have reached this conclusion, but, I think they made Aloy "unattractive" because she's a lgbt character.

I dunno, there's very little unattractive about her that a good daily moisturizer wouldn't fix and while I never did the DLC she seemed to be leaning more towards hotdog then team taco. Now if you wanted to say that her design was a very mild touch tumblr I would agree with you, her ginger dreads are a step too far in that direction.

Well, I'd say the sudden and violent expulsion of the cancer that made it such a shithole has been a real boon for the site overall. Sure, they don't have as many members as they used to, but the ones still there can actually talk about games and other topics without the fear of being banned for having the "wrong" opinion, making it more of an actual forum.

Oh, and that cancer manifested itself into an even more extremist and hated version of old NeoGAF (in just one year, that place has banned hundreds of members and has had talks of banning all discussion of certain games) for us to laugh at and talk about their insanity, so that's a good thing too.

So apparently Sony US has been accused of forcing Japan only games to go through their censorship board and Japanese developers have to communicate with the US branch in English during US hours (Tokyo is 16 hours ahead of California). Reminder 'no one wants to take your games away'.

These people have a terrible grasp on what victim blaming is. This was very obviously one of their own typical rallying cries of doing stuff to defeat the fash, which I actually applaud because you should be politically engaged if you want to change things. I know nothing about Brazilian politics, but chances are neither do ResetEra. I've never heard any of these people so much as feign interest in Brazilian politics until the far-left suddenly started screaming about "Brazilian Trump!". I've never seen anyone elaborate on it either.

Judging from the early posts, the mods changed the title from "populist" to "fascist". That'll show him.

Even after all the bans and censorship of anyone vaguely right wing by the big social media platforms, and Era still think they are against left.

I do like the ban for "Downplaying people's fearful reactions". Firstly, the person doing the 'downplaying' is much, much more likely to actually be a local of Brazil than the other user, who is literally calling them evil. Secondly, it's an explicit support of fear-mongering and mob behaviour.

I mean, 'How dare you try and calm us down! That's a banning!' - they're openly supporting hysteria, paranoia and panic, because to not buy into their users' victim complexes would be hurtful.
