I can't help but feel rule 5 and 6 are only there for plausible deniability.

My guess is that the situation that those rules will be interpreted such that the instances in which they apply are extremely limited and functionally irrelevant.

Yeah, I think what it means is instead of someone posting something that could even vaguely be construed as pro-Trump and all the other users dogpiling them with REEEEEs until a mod steps in, that as soon as the pro-Trump thing gets posted the mods will just delete it and possibly ban the user for doing so. Cuts out on the mandatory REEEEEing and gets straight to the essential status quo without any of that pesky wrongthink.

Now if they shut off all political sperging, then I'd be completely here for that. But neither gaming forum would ever give up the chance to not talk about games in place of vapid virtue signalling and attacks on anything deemed unwoke.

A bit of context for this one. Last week, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate had a bombshell of a leak that may or may not be true, evidence leans to "true." Without detailing it, what had happened was that some guy leaked shit on Snapchat, and a render of The Grinch tied things together, calling them "The Grinch Leaks" which is probably the most absurd way to have Smash Bros. leaked. Of course, this causes "insiders" to come out the flood gates and say "this is fake" or "this isn't correct" because they genuinely do not like it when people believe one thing and not what they're told. Pro Tip: Sometimes things in development change and an insider's info can be incorrect but also correct (See Gematsu leaks, they said Chrom from Fire Emblem would be in Smash 4, but he never got in, but Sakurai DID confirm he was playable and programmed at one point)

So with that out of the way, let's see how resetera is taking this!

I don't know if these retards realize what they're setting up here. I mean yeah, we're dealing with RetardERA right here, so probably not, but still.

Basically, the issue with Echo Chambers is this: You might for a while suppress wrongthink and keep the cultists focused and on-task, but after they fulfill their initial directives, they grow restless. They need to take on new challenges. At first, they'll focus on the outside, but since status is not easily earned, but in fact, taken within the echo chamber, there's always going to be users waiting in the wings like a pack of wolves for the slightest misstep to report them to the commissariat. They're incentivized to. And eventually, once the battery of initial trolls and dipshits within the nest are dealt with, they'll cheerfully turn on one another to deal with their rivals.

It's not a matter of if ResetERA is going to eventually implode in a fashion similar to NeoGAF before it - it is a matter of when, and what deligthful Autism we're going to have to cover in the process. Be ready for it, Kiwis, because while it may be coming in a few days or a few years, its arrival is inevitable and we will feast that day.
