He may have paid less than the minimum due. That still counts as delinquency but a lot of people wrongly believe that as long as you're paying something creditors won't take any action.
Correct. A lot of people think that it's a merit to be recognized, and that the debt collectors will go easy on you because you're "making the effort to pay, right?". That is completely 100% false. They don't care about anything that is at least the bare minimum due.
At the end of the day, it's about money, and they're not going to go soft on you. Especially someone like Chris who has multiple delinquencies and hits to his credit.
