Don't forget, the money going to fund Mark Waid's campaign to legalize destroying someone's livelihood on a whim is being paid directly out of the incomes of the corrupt comics pros who support the Marvel/DC duopoly.

The money going to Meyer is also coming out of their income, because it's mostly comics fans, some of them whales who previously spent thousands on comics, and probably still would be if these very same comics pros hadn't dropped their trousers, showed them their assholes (sometimes literally) and shit all over them.

So they're getting fucked coming and going, as they deserve, and Zaid doesn't even file any substantive motion until tomorrow.

Congratulations, you're off to a great start, comics pros.

Exactly. I last dumped a spreadsheet around 24 hours ago, here's a diff between then and now:

Nice. How did you get that? I was trying to find if GFM had an API where I could get data like that, but couldn't find anything, and was too lazy to put together a screen scraper.

How did you get that?
I modified this python script that outputs the data in csv format. Here's what I'm currently using: https://pastebin.com/QzXVTAa2

An example of executing it from Bash:
Code:
python ./GoFundMe-Donators.py mark-waids-legal-defense-fund > ./donations-waid-$(date +"%Y%m%d%H%M").csv
python ./GoFundMe-Donators.py back-ya-boi-zack > ./donations-meyer-$(date +"%Y%m%d%H%M").csv

Dude, Zach has been talking about the god damn post office so much he's hardly had time to tangent off into talking about military stuff.
Oh, did he used to be in the military? I hadn't heard.

Someone plunked down a $10,500 donation, so Ya Boi is back in six figures, young lady territory.

:story: I'm starting to think the $10K donations were made just to fuck with Ren's mind, she keeps losing her shit every time anything on the GFM changes:

Meyer is a veteran of both the Army and the Marines, reaching the rank of Sergeant in both as I recall.

Army and Marines. He served in both Afghanistan and Iraq.

Yes, friends, the joke was that the dude mentions being in the military nearly every stream. You both need to recalibrate your sarcasm detectors.

Clownfish TV discusses Mark’s GFM update (at 17min topic switches to Nu-She-Ra):

Should be amusing if he chooses to wear his Marine dress uniform in court. (Marines have kick-ass dress uniforms.)

Only retired Veterans (those who did the full 20 years) are allowed to wear dress uniform anytime they want. Combat veterans (of which Meyer is) are allowed to wear dress uniform under specific circumstances, mainly military funerals, military awards ceremonies, their wedding, etc, and only if they meet all the physical and grooming standards for wearing it. Most vets don't bother though. Its a huge pain in the ass.

tl;dr, Meyer can't wear a dress uniform to court. He could go uber chad and wear his medals on his chest. You are allowed to do that, but its considered tacky and other vets will judge you like sorority girls for doing it. Especially if you just have stupid shit like the Achievement Medal.

Veterans and retirees are not allowed to wear their uniform to court, either civil or criminal. While on Active Duty you are a representative of the United States Military whether you are in uniform or not and it is a big deal when you have to go to court. Your command gets heavily involved and your SNCO will have to go to court in uniform with you as you are representing your respective service. Yes, service members do have to go to civilian court. You get hit by regular laws and the UCMJ if you break the law off base. Wearing your uniform to court as a civilian could be seen as an effort to sway the court in your favor based on your military service and is illegal under federal regs iirc correctly. I've heard of veterans getting kicked out of court for coming in uniform.

The military does maintain standards you are supposed to follow even after retiring or EASing for wearing your uniform including what occasions it is appropriate to wear them, grooming standards, and conduct standards. Even as a civilian, putting on that uniform means you are representing your respective branch. Gonna stop myself before I start sperging out of control.

edit. fucking ninjed. But as a correction, the only veterans allowed to wear it ANY time they want are MoH awardees. I believe the regulation specifically states they "may wear it at their leisure". Everyone else has regs they have to follow.

It would be considered a shameful display even if it were allowed.

Its why vets can't stand the stolen honor types that walk around in "lets pretend" uniforms. Even the dudes who actually earned the medals never wear them, and almost no veterans go through the hassle of putting on the Dress Uniform again until they are dead and getting put in the ground. They might whip it out if a son or daughter completes Basic Training or one of the Military Academies, or if a Comrade died and they are attending the funeral. Barring that though the uniform stays in the closet and the medals sit on a shelf. 99% of the time if you see somebody wearing a medal just out and about on the street they never earned it.

“Baseless” that’s why Mark has 2 lawyers working on it and a reputable lawyer took Mayer’s case. I know Bill is probably tired from getting trolled by his 90 year old aunt on Facebook but imagine being so jaded that he considers Mark Waid as moral:

Did you really donate? I went back as far as the first day (I quit when I reached the 1K mark) and I never saw your name unless you’re one of the anonymous donations. But why would you make an anonymous donation?

I'm frankly amazed that Marvel or Disney legal hasn't sent a company wide memo to their artists and writers (and frankly, Bill Sinkiewicz is such a geezer he should already know this) to tell them to keep their fucking mouths shut about this case, because it is quite the opposite of frivolous or "baseless" and might well end up implicating them in widespread illegal industry practices.
