YouTube is apparently refunding all $25,000 raised for St. Jude's Children's Hospital raised by the #Healstream a few weeks ago.
That's completely fucked up. Taking money from cancer kids because they disagree with banter.

Yes, but luckily James for the most part sticks to internet drama such as the skeptics, Furries, tumblr, Neo-Gaf, sovereign citizens, ect. The only time he talks about world politics is when it affects the internet or to mock one of the groups i mentioned. So i dont think he is as much on there radar as Ralph who nightly goes on about world politics

Incitement to hatred isn't a crime in the US, though in general, when it comes to illegal content, it'd depend on how much you knew about it. If a two hour stream has 15 minutes of people planning a crime at the end, and youtube deletes it based on the first 15 minutes they listened to, they are probably in the clear. Might depend on how active the moderation is.
With all the "harassment" she'll get now, the headline will be "Alt-right threatens to kill female journalist".Maybe they wanted to avoid "YOUTUBE RAISES 25K FROM ALTRIGHT" plastered all over the lefty media sources but this way it's "YOUTUBE BLOCKS 25K FROM BEING DONATED TO CANCER KIDS" and I'm sure both seemed bad but one is obviously worse. All this is going to do is piss off the alt right and it'll still look terrible on the lefty outlets anyways. What were they thinking?

Ordinarily, showing up and strongly hinting that someone's business might run into some trouble if that someone doesn't pony up $20 (just sayin!) would be extortion. This just seems like parsing implication vs explicitivity (that even a word?).
It does provide protection on a federal level. It's a federal law. Cloudflare distributes ISIS websites.Yes probably a bad choice. I was thinking more along the lines of incitement to genocide/violence. I've just done some reading and it appears CDA 230 doesn't provide protection on a federal level. So if you had a forum and were allowing ISIS to post recruitment videos I don't think you could claim immunity.
Koh definitely has the background to have the contacts at YouTube who could swing this.
Yea YouTube. Take away money going to kids with cancer. That's totally not shooting your own foot and shooting it again to be sure you hit the target. You guys are truly the pinnacle of morality.YouTube is apparently refunding all $25,000 raised for St. Jude's Children's Hospital raised by the #Healstream a few weeks ago.
