Unpopular Opinions about Video Games

I think most people who play games are either massively entitled or absolute bitches. Perhaps it's just the people I hang around but that seems to be the majority of the cunts I play with.

It definitely seems this way, when you go look at the comment section of channels like DF and yongyea.
Also the whole " are games art" argument always brings out the most annoyiing part of the community.

I like the Princess Maker games.

I heard Youre allowed to, only if youre a little jewish princess.

As someone who has played a few White Wolf Tabletop rpgs including Hunter I strongly disagree. In fact something Troika did was it condensed VtM's obtuse and somewhat dull lore into a more easily consumable package. Something Troika did somewhat smartly is they made the vampire hunters catholics with no real supernatural traits. Whereas in the game Hunter by White Wolf Vampire Hunters are actually just humans but somewhat superhuman with enhanced abilities and traits.

oWoD and nWoD have this issue where the subject matter is insanely cringe and comes off like it was made for people who browse Deviant Art. Like they were heavy into SocJus long before it was mainstream and made frequent comparisons between vampirism and gender identity. It would be genuinely challenging to adapt other WoD properties like Werewolf, Mage and especially Wraith.

It also would've lacked a few elements that made VtmB stand out compared to other rpgs at the time, and even nowadays. Like how drastically the game changes depending on the Vampire clan you choose to play. This is what most people remember about the game

It's one of the best rpgs I've played so I'm not putting down the game's richness or gameplay. But everything about the world just made me want to stomp vampires. They're just villains to me, not cool or relatable anti-heros. The part where you kill the stripper who was trying to infiltrate Velvet Velour's club, being on the other side of missions like that would be really intense in that setting.

Also yeah White Wolf's goonish politics are hilarious.
The Brujah can be passionate fighters but also critical thinkers; the clan activists are often very different from the clan theorists. On many occasions, the latter are Embraced from former gender studies or sociology students, those who have survived near-death experiences, and people who have in other ways suffered and endured great personal loss. The philosophical Brujah, known as Hellenes, believe the best method of dismantling the establishment is to understand the social and cultural systems that allow it to exist in the first place.
I'm not supposed to not want to shoot them with a flaming crossbow? Common man

The Last Of Us is extremely overrated and has some of the shittiest and most awkward stealth and aiming mechanics I've ever had the displeasure of experiencing.
You might like this video. It sheds some light on some aspects that never made it into the game that would have truly made it special, namely far more dynamic (and smarter) AI.

I remember the salt about this video when the creator shared it on NeoGAF. Good shit.

Funniest part was that in his follow-up video regarding the Left Behind DLC, he acknowledged all the commenters who claimed he had a broken copy or his PS3 was messed up. He then said he played Left Behind on a different PS3 with a different copy and the AI was still shit.

I wasn't super into Parasite Eve. The concept was cool, the music was great, and honestly the entire opening sequence was pretty well done.

The rest of the game kinda falls flat for me though. The story was a bit ridiculous, the battle mechanics got really boring after a while, and there wasn't much incentive for me to really delve into the gun customization. Maybe for the post game stuff, but by that point I wasn't interested.

Also the environmentalist message during one of the ending cutscenes felt so fucking forced.

To be fair, it's been a few years since I first played the game. Maybe playing it a second time would make me change my mind. Wouldn't be the first time I fell in love with a game after I gave it a second playthrough.

Also, I know this is petty, but I really hate the usage of stock sound effects. Made it harder for me to take the game seriously.

You know, I feel kinda the same way about parasite eve. The goofy forced biology lesson in the beginning stands out "Oh cell mitochondria are the powerplants of the cells" then adds scifi nonsense so the villain can make people burst into flames.

The gun customization was totally self defeating because they built in some bizarre balancing system. You could up your rate of fire (At the cost of lowering your damage). It was set up so no matter how much you upped the rate of fire, the damage was decreased by just the right amount, so you end up doing the same damage over the same amount of time. Unless the target has armor, in which case you do less. Why?

The Resident Evil 2 style camera stuff was also off putting. And the game was generally grindy. Yet I believe I finished it...

As a huge fan of the first one. I'd say you'd love it if you replayed it, taking into consideration that this was Squares first time experimenting with actual Real Time battle (not FF RTB), you gotta give them kudos for that. I don't think the rest of the game fell flat, the zoo had exploding and amazing cutscenes as did the museum and it really shows the power of the mitochondria through out and proves to be a extremely powerful foe, also makes you use her powers more, to beat enemies quicker.
The hospital and station had some feels.

Post game which is the true ending was something I didn't see coming, having to go through many floors and fighting some different bosses you didn't see in the game which are extremely strong that you have to pick the right weapon to fully enhance because if not, you're fucked by the end. You do get that feeling of suspense when you reach the last floor.
Having to fight the true Mitochondria which takes form as Ayas sister because her body was the perfect host, the music making everything more sad as you fight

But of course its a biased opinion, but i hope you do play again and enjoy!
