Berkowitz is actually a pretty popular serial killer to send letters to since the Summer of Sam made such a cultural impact in NYC and his general demeanor makes him seem really nonthreatening. That plus his born again christian schitck means he's generally perceived as being more 'harmless' or 'approachable', in whatever way those can apply to serial killers. That being said it's hilarious that she actually wrote to him. She can no longer pretend to be "not like those other serial killer obsessed weirdos" since she does the exact same things the 'condoning' fangirls do. I wonder if she ever wrote to manson.

Why do all of you assume Steffy actually sent said letter. I mean everything she’s ever done involves her sitting in her room claiming to go on incubus adventures through hell, why do any of you think she would actually interact with someone? It would kill the idealism in her head if a serial killer responded to her through the mail and it wasn’t exactly how she thought it would be.

It’s not too far fetched to believe she sent him a letter, infamous serial killers definitely get a lot of letters from deranged fangirls pretty often. It’s dumb to expect him to write back though, especially when she probably wrote some bizarre shit like one of her satanic prayer poems protecting him from getting shanked in prison or something. He probably crumpled it up and threw it in the trash.

Kemper stopped giving interviews and answering mail after the 90s, Rader/BTK ignores them, and Gary Ridgeway has an IQ in the 80s, so he can't really articulate/write back. Berkowitz answers but it's all about Jesus and he will ignore any mentions of his crimes since he now vehemently denies it. Ted Kaczynski (I think?) answers but only asks you to buy him stuff, as well as read his book.
