Looking through many pages here, what is it with Tumblr and hideous proportions, awful color/design choices, big noses, ugly faces, minoritywashing, unusual skull shapes and other weird shit.

The vast majority of Farmers (over 90%) who fixed up the horrors posted here did an excellent job.

Long Answer:
Tumblr believes that by emphasizing usually 'undesired' or 'ugly' traits that it can be beautified or normalized. Black-washing is done for the usual 'POC Rep' due to the mostly light-skinned characters in media.

Both things are quite useless to do as they only pander to a certain crowd, and will not win the approval of the majority of those who consume the media that is being put out there.
Some of the artists on Tumblr choose traits which they possess (for ex. overweight, acne, skin color etc.) and bring them up to eye-melting levels on characters they draw to represent themselves in there.

They're bad and young artists who want to draw "realistically".

This entire kickstarter is a mess, the backgrounds are embarrassing. The colours are all standard ms paint toolbar eye searing green. The animations just look wrong.

I don't understand why they're called heart girl and flower girl and why they are working at a cat cafe.

Back in the 2017 when i first find the sjw art thread i found this. I haven't made any account tho. The redraw is made at the same year so its an old art and please forgive the wonkyness. I have fixed most of my art now.

Yo I’m gonna Be honest, the recent edits in this thread are literally fixing stylistic choices that aren’t even that bad and not that tumblr orientated, and drawing it in your own style / anime and acting as if it’s better.

Believe it or not, if a piece of artwork isn’t in a style other than anime, doesn’t mean it’s bad. The characters people are redrawing look exactly like how they normally do - just drawn differently.

For fuck sake.

For some reason I think this comment is somewhat directed towards my redraw idk, but still even if a few aren’t even very tumblr stylized there are still some sort of design or major anatomy issues I could point at least something out in just about all the original drawings shown in the thread.

(Of course, I’m not saying I’m an expert either. I’m awful at drawing hands)

Also yeah there are anatomical errors but at this point this thread is just Redrawing wonky art drawn by people who are still developing art skills and their individual style.

I thought that was the whole point of this thread? I just redraw stuff that I think has the most potential or would be the most fun to redraw.
