He doesn't know either of these facts.

He thinks the book is called Jawbreaker.

And he thinks the publisher is called Atlantic.

This is the attention to detail that this idiot has. He is actually being paid to know less about the case than some random moron on Twitter would.

I'm starting to suspect that Zaid is merely pretending to be re/tarded. I doubt there's really an explicit list, because there doesn't really need to be. Implicit threats are enough, and when they're not, then someone like Waid will step in and correct it.

This is why I was hoping to see a more wide reaching lawsuit against not just Waid, but Marvel itself and its corporate parents. You can see the obvious reason a small law firm would choose not to do that, though, lest they trigger the rage of the Mouse along with its full legal army.

I have suspicions that Zaid is a loyal tool to people other than his client who have an interest in making sure he doesn't get any dumb ideas when he realizes he's going to lose, like trying to claim he was just following orders so he shouldn't be hit with the entire judgment personally. That's strictly tinfoil shit, though. I have no evidence of it.

He just happens to also do work related to the Overstreet Guide people, Gemstone Publishing. That just happens to be owned by Diamond Comic Distributors. Diamond just happens to be the monopoly that distributes the vast majority of commercially available comics.

Zaid, the minion of these guys, just happens to be representing a client who has helpfully gotten one of those few non-Diamond-approved comics kicked off the shelves where they sell their comics.

Just one of those things that makes you go hmmm.

This is the Gemstone Publishing that, so far as I know, mainly just publishes the Overstreet Guide at this point.

I agree that there probably isn't an actual list and it's just a word of mouth thing. But given the people involved and how SMRT they are i also wouldn't put it past them to have a email chain with 'Important blacklist do not hire any of these people or you will also be blacklisted' statements.

These apparently took place while the Vox Day/Jon Del Arroz situation was playing out, which led to Brett Smith having a falling out with EVS and some other creators.

Yeah Brett appeared on about two streams before it became very apparent he took himself too seriously and he’s vanished ever since.
