Basically one of EVS's fan groups that take the Culture War autistically serious. Most CG members I've talked to that had interactions with them, absolutely detested them. Their gimmick is to be absolute cunts to people they don't like for perceived grievances with people in anti-CG and CG while larping.

That is why I have tried to keep myself at arm's length from Comicsgate. There are so many inflated egos and it only becomes a matter of time before we get more drama and pointless slap fights. It distracts from the real issues plaguing the comic book industry, which has fallen into terminal decline and basically exists solely to mine IPs for more profitable media like film, television, and streaming. Between the gatekeeping we see with Anti-CG and now EVS, I am rather pessimistic that the industry can be saved.

I'd imagine even his older close collaborators who put up with his opinions (like Geoff Johns) want absolutely nothing to do with him anymore.

Well, according to EVS himself, he and Geoff have not been in constant contact since Flash: Rebirth, which was almost a decade ago. The last time the two even met was at the NYC comicon and even that was a brief bro hug. I imagine Geoff is simply too busy with his own projects to pay attention to Comicsgate. Plus, he has quite a pool of talent to draw from like Ivan Reis, Gary Frank, Scott Kolins, Dale Eaglesham, and Jason Fabok to name a few.

I think that would be a mistake. Less than 24 hrs after the Rekieta debate and Twitter looks like a big EVS circlejerk. These people are all drinking the Kool-Aid now. Considering that anybody with a brain could tell last night that EVS and Malin(really bummed by Jon) were just being evasive and willfully ignoring Englentine's points (there's a guy I never liked basically for being a fence-sitter, but I thought he made few good points last night, before buckling like a belt). The message now is anybody who criticizes EVS is "jealous".
The people who are turning away from EVS (like myself) are already doing so. It's funny, if he hadn't opened his mouth I would've just gone on enjoying his show, but now I can't help be see the guy for what he is: a carpetbagger.

It doesn't seem like a troll. It sounds like he's heard all the criticism about him, and taken it to heart. He's basically just stepping back and refocusing on his own comics and his own videos. He doesn't want to be seen as a figurehead of CG anymore, and deal with everything that comes with that. If he sticks to this, I think it's a good move for him.

I readily admit my investment but you’re not wrong in the slightest. As much as I am invested, I can’t control anything in it. I’ll probably slowly divest myself of what investment I do have & kick my feet up to watch as his merry band of LARPing autists cause Rome to burn because Caesar couldn’t take the time to tell them to stop playing with matches in the horse stables 24/7.

I also wanted to say that there is nothing wrong in wanting your hobby to have good comics, community and respectful interactions with creators. If products are shipped and if you deem them as worthy, then there's also no reason not to stay invested in those properties. I'm biased because i want the autistic slap fight more than anything else, now there's no reason why we both shouldn't be able to get what we want but the current trajectory doesn't look good for people more invested than me.
