I found these pictures of baby Koda on a family member's Facebook page. Koda was a puppy in 2011. That means he was 6-7 years old when he passed away. Poor pupper. At least Joshua Hoffman can't hurt him anymore.

Joshua Hoffman had another public Facebook profile. I don't see it in the OP and no one in the thread mentioned it. I archived all the pages because I have a feeling he's going to delete it after this post. Pictures and names of family members and friends are blacked out. Screenshots of Joshua's FB page are in the spoilers and archived links are below that. Please do not harass Josh or his family and friends. Family and friends did not mention the investigation but they are probably aware of it.

Josh had easy access to dead animals because his family members hunted for sport and food. I blurred the faces of the dead animals because it's gory. Some of the photos are cropped for the same reasons too. Josh claimed he didn't like to hunt. He's not in any of the pictures.

I feel like contacting anybody but someone who could possibly be directly affected by his current presence in their life (AKA someone likely to leave their dog with him) could just wind up causing chaos and possibly tampering with the investigation.

Contacting everyone on his friends list would just cause unnecessary panic in my opinion, and it gives him an opportunity to victimize himself and whine about a witch hunt to them all on his page.

( I’d also like to add, I realized that even contacting his mom is unnecessary: the police will likely bring her in and ask whether or not the dog in the videos they have is Koda. I don’t think we need to contact anybody, because the people who need to know will likely be informed by professionals. )

Hunting kills/trophies generally don't fall into the same classification of gore for most people. Some might still find it tasteless though, but yeah it is absolutely a southern/rural thing. Some of my extended family lives in rural country and whenever hunting season rolls around their Facebook pages become littered with pictures of campfires and the little ones getting their first kills. A couple weeks later there's usually lots of pictures of cookouts and BBQ's with said meat.

Hunters everywhere do that, not just in the USA. Take for example Europe, and Germans in particular, have their own tradition that involves placing some sort of twig or branch in the animals mouth as a sign of respect.

The photos are to show off the “trophy” aspect, that’s why the turkey fan, spur, or beard are displayed, the racks of deer or moose, etc.

The large canid in the photo looks like a coyote to me.
