While the video is edgy shit, one might excuse it by wondering if the game actually reacts to it. Especially when the game has side content and easter eggs. The tweets responding to it mostly weigh in "it's just a video game/it's just triangles". Then there's post such as these.
Gamers being un-self aware some how is related to this but the true tism is the convo between the Homestuck and the Thottoman

Really though, the digitized fight will never match the real life trench fights. And WW1 wasn't really a fight against fascism much as fights between countries over an archduke getting assassinated.

It couldn't have been a fight against fascism because fascism didn't even come into existence under that specific name until after World War I, although it was a reaction both to the war and to Communism.

Off Topic, but since yesterday was the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day and WWI has been mentioned a few times, I recommend the Hardcore History series on WWI to anyone. It's very good. Those poor boys really thought the war would be over in 6 weeks. I'm halfway through it, and everytime I think I've heard the most horrible part, that life cannot get any worse for the poor men, it gets more horrible.
