That's one of the ironic things about this kind of "art". While the "artists" are trying to be as "progressive" as possible, the characters often look like a bunch of racist stereotypes. Seriously, some of the "art" depicting Japanese characters look like those old racist WWII propaganda posters.

Remember one of those modern Disney princess reimaginations? With trans Kuzco and dwarf Tinkerbell?
She got a lot better recently! Published historical romance comic about XIX century Silesia, with good research and pretty, girly art inspired by shoujo manga.
It's published in hardcover in Polish, but there are some pages in English here: https://tapas.io/episode/811299
First issue is pretty solid, I'm suprised by good writing (author is professional artist, but not a writer) and I'm sucker for local history too.

Anyway, it's an example of author of SJW art getting better.

I just read the first three chapters and I’m really impressed. The art is really cute and it’s better than most of the webcomics in Tapas (like Rock and Riot for example..). I wish her the best

I may sound super triggered right now, but this is like the most racist art I've seen in modern times. Like /pol/ memes barely hold a candle and this fool thinks this shit is progressive and inclusive. At least /pol/ memes are shitty ms paint pictures made in less than 5 minutes but someone spent dozens of hours to make art of a buck tooth, big lipped, big nosed, nappy headed gollywog. It's not just the way he looks, it also the gestures the closely mimics racist caricatures e.i. the big, toothy, jovial grin. Hate is one thing, but this level of self unawareness is another thing entirely.

It's just pixels on a screen but goddamn tumblr get your shit together.

I was 100% sure that the art was going to suck when I saw the ad on Youtube and I couldn’t make out what I saw.. I didn’t know if they were people, trees, etc. i only saw colorful blobs (to be fair, the ad was small and I didn’t have my glasses on)

This reeks of pandering. The trailer even said that "every gay possesses highlight, which makes them special" (paraphrasing here but you get the idea).

I feel like this is going to be either a big hit with those who already like drag / tumblrites who like the center on gayness, or a huge miss with the SJW crowd for exploiting gay people.
