The only thing that matters is if they can shut up about their little culture war for five minutes while giving their obligatory take on Lee's death. Anyone who uses this to talk about CG, pro or anti, gets an automatic fail.

I've just caught up on the the thread, and I don't see that anything at all has changed. EVS is no longer going to use the ComicsGate hashtag, that's all. Mainstream comics still suck and people will still bitch about it, independent creators are still creating independently and raising money online. So it isn't under a particular banner - so what?

Oh, and RIP Stan Lee.

It's their favorite tactic. Period.

They believe that Narrative trumps everything, including reality itself. It's their go-to tactic for absolutely everything - to declare a problem to not be one. This same thing happened repeatedly back during GG, it's progressing the exact same way in CG, and it will happen again the next time there's a similar uprising in some other field. The clowns pushing this identity politics crap carry, at all times, the belief that if they can just control the narrative hard enough, the narrative can dictate reality. That would be why these asshats keep doing this same trick, as if it will actually do anything.

Back during GG, when they kept doing this shit, it was mostly to save face - to mitigate the damage GG was already doing in real time, especially to Gawker and other sites through GG chasing away their advertisers and reporting their affiliate link violations to the FTC. Of course, no mention of this tactic and GG can be made without the incident that started GG with this same tactic: when they declared Gamers to be over, and 14 allegedly-competing publications decided to show how totally-not-in-collusion they were by running the same article with the same content over a 2-day period when this whole shit-show began.

Back during GG, you saw the Anti-GGers declare Gamergate "over" like 130 times in 2014 alone. They basically did it any time someone that they percieved as a "leader" of GG (such as Jim, Ralph, KingOfPol, etc) got into trouble/left the hashtag movement/whatever, on the belief system that by taking out the leaders, they would somehow break GG's back. The thing is, while that tactic did, in fact, work on the Anti-GGers (who place huge priority on their leadership, but have fucking breakdowns when one of their own gets nailed for sexual assault), GG was, at its core, leaderless, and as such, every time some big voice in the movement left, the movement kepty going regardless. CG is going to keep going even with EVS gone, because EVS wasn't Comicsgate, he just was one especially loud voice within it, and even that's lost amongst the cacophony.

This also is tied to how GG (and now, CG) aggressively self-policed. As Autistic as it was, GG as a whole consistently pushed out known bad actors, since anyone could (and did) claim to be with GG (as Null once hilariously pointed out with a subforum specifically intended to piss off a certain British terrorist). Trolls tended to be outed by GGers pretty often and attack accounts were often reported to platforms by GG supporters more often than their Anti-GG counterparts. I'd actually argue that the trolls who aggressively were trying to prod both sides, like the clowns at SA and @Teridax ultimately did a good thing by causing the biggest retards on both sides to come out of the woodwork.

GG absolutely had no qualms about tearing their own to pieces, and if a given GGer decided to pull a Homer, you'd usually see other GGers join you in making fun of that individual, something Samuel Collingwood Smith got to experience when KIA told him to go fuck himself in response to his personal army requests against Randi Harper. Similar has happened in CG, with particularly aggressive or autistic CGers getting called out by their fellows.

Once CG actually does end, mind - which it will, more likely than not when the comics industry inevitably begins to sort its shit back out - the same people who repeatedly declared it to be dead and over will, surely by coincidence, be the same people insisting it still exists and is an active and ongoing threat to their lives and livelihoods.

I'm not surprised, or really teared up by this, as he was 95 years old when he died, and lived a long, full life...

...but goddamn slimy fucks such as @Death Ray pretending to care about Stan Lee and using Stan Lee's death as political propaganda for their sperg war.

Yeah well, it's going to be something to see how folks are going to handle this. To be honest, I hope it goes modestly. We all knew this was coming sooner than later.

Are they saying SJWs are the comicgaters or...?) are somehow responsible for the death of a 95 year old man, to immediately going "MUH MOVIE CAMEOS!!!!" Really got your priorities in order there buddy.

Considering Stan has been exploited, allegedly abused, he's been tokenized and wheeled out to every public event possible at the great financial benefit of others. His wife just passed away and now this idiot Yungbluth, like many SJW's are going to make his passing about them and their autistic internet troll agenda. No respect from people who supposedly care.

They didn't care, Amanat(?) admitted to wheeling him out to make that hostage video to dunk on hardcore fans that were in CG. He should have been living the high life, instead he was an abused hostage and signature slave.

How will that lawsuit against the vampire go now that Stan passed? Can his daughter or estate still go after the guy?
