It is astounding that Fox News out of all people acted more mature with Obama than CNN is with Trump.
Fox News didn't have to bother, they knew that Obama attacking them only made them look better. They already get to bill themselves as the lone voice for conservatives in the media, having the High Leftist shit on them just helped prove their point. Since it was just them, and he made outlandish claims (like saying they were the ones calling him a Muslim, which they could just sit back and say "We have never reported that President Obama is a Muslim" because they hadn't), all it did was make it look like they were being bullied by the President and thus the aggrieved party.
Trump meanwhile gets to call out the entire rest of the media with shit they've actually been caught doing, and the fact that the vast, vast majority of the news media is just constantly, unceasingly, neverendingly shitting on him over every single thing he does puts him in that same position... he's the sole standout being bullied by the powerful majority and just firing back. And these ever-so-clever muckrakers are completely incapable of figuring out that they're just giving him exactly what he wants when they act like this. Acosta doing this shit doesn't make Trump look bad to the majority of people, it makes Acosta look bad... now, obviously plenty of people are willing to stand up for Acosta anyway, but they can't claim consistency on it, these are the people that wanted to hang a congressman just for mouthing "No" during one of Obama's speeches.
But for a lot of people all it's doing is proving everything Trump says about the media right. Obama couldn't prove what he said about Fox was right, no one could, you can be damn sure they'd be constantly posting the videos of it if it existed. When Trump says the media is fake and trying to attack him, the media makes up more shit and more blatantly attacks him. It'd be as if Fox heard about Obama saying they were calling him a Muslim, and decided to run a twelve hour "Obama's a Muslim" marathon.
