It's doomed to failure, but I think it would be amusing if some spree-killer fanboy developed a fixation on her and tried to bust her out of prison. All joking aside, I really think that being obsessed with things like mass shootings, serial killers, and the like should be regarded as a pathology unto itself, at least when the fixation is as deep as Lindsay's. Now I'm not saying we should lock up spree killer fanboys for that alone, but it should be grounds for the cops to take a look at you. If someone constantly talked about being a burglar, how awesome stealing is, and discussed techniques for fencing stolen goods, no one would object if the cops investigated to see if perhaps he had a shed full off other people's stuff. Why should be it be any different for something much more serious?

Glad others here are still keeping eyes and ears open about her. Was just coming here to post about this.

Basically she is appealing to get a fixed sentence as then she would have a definite release date. As I posted earlier in thread back when she was sentenced, she is basically going to do life as she will be at the mercy of the parole board on whether she would get released. With a fixed sentence, she would be guaranteed a get out of jail card. But with original sentence imposed, there is no guarantee she'd ever get out.

I guess the realisation that she may never get out prison, or will be over 50 before the parole board may decide she is "rehabilitated" is scaring the shit out of her now.

It will fail, given magnitude of what would have happened here. I'd LOL if the appeal court decides judge was too lenient and 10 years before eligibility was not enough and doubled it to 20!

I will post anything worthy I come across in news or court filings. I will see if I can get her Notice of Appeal although they are typically pretty bland documents. Its the factums in an appeal that contain all the substantial stuff.

Glad she is still active in some form tho! May get some new info or shit down thr road out of this.

Did we ever find nudes of her?
They exist per the comments made by judge at sentencing. They were also subjected to a sealing or confidentiality order so no way those are getting viewed. You'd need an insider at the court to get a peek cause you ain't getting any order to unseal as you'd have to show they have some value to or in the interests of the public. And jacking off to them sadly isn't a compelling enough reason. LOL There would have to be merit as to why the public should be able to view nude pics.

So not sure if you now knowing they exist but you won't be able to access them is good or bad for ya. There could be others out there somewhere, but I'd think they'd have come to light by now.

Sadly in today's times they just run CP articles a lot so basically most sites' stories are same. But, for posterity, here are the local news stories:

An American woman who plotted to go on a Valentine’s Day shooting spree at a Halifax mall is appealing her sentence of life in prison, calling it “manifestly harsh and excessive.”

Lindsay Souvannarath was sentenced in April after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit murder in a plan that would have seen two shooters open fire at the Halifax Shopping Centre food court in 2015.

A motion to set a date for the appeal hearing is expected to be considered next week by Justice David Farrar of the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal.

In her notice of appeal, Souvannarath argues that her sentence of life imprisonment with no chance of parole for 10 years should be revised to a fixed sentence of 12 to 14 years.

The Chicago-area woman provides five grounds for appeal, including suggesting that the presiding judge committed an error by imposing a burden on her to prove she was remorseful and had “renounced anti-social beliefs.”

She also argues that Supreme Court Justice Peter Rosinski was wrong to compare the conspiracy to a terrorism offence and conclude it was equivalent in “moral blameworthiness, gravity and danger” to the public.

The 26-year-old woman added that the judge offended the principle of parity by imposing a dramatically lengthier sentence on her than on co-conspirator Randall Shepherd.

Souvannarath pleaded guilty last year, several months after Shepherd – a Halifax man described in court as the “cheerleader” of the foiled shooting plot – was sentenced to a decade in jail.

A third alleged conspirator, 19-year-old James Gamble, was found dead in his Halifax-area home a day before the planned attack.

The conspiracy can be traced back to December 2014, when Souvannarath and Gamble began an online relationship, exchanging explicit intimate photographs and a fascination with mass shootings.

Thousands of Facebook messages between the two provide details of the conspiracy and Souvannarath’s obsession with Nazism, the 1999 Columbine shooting and a plot she nicknamed “Der Untergang” – a Valentine’s Day shooting rampage at a Halifax mall.

The massacre was to end with their own suicides.

Souvannarath left her home in Geneva, Ill., on Feb 13, 2015, and flew to Halifax on a one-way ticket, allegedly carrying her “death outfit” and books on serial killers in her luggage.

But the plan began to fall apart before she landed in Nova Scotia.

Acting on a tip, police surrounded Gamble’s home outside Halifax. He agreed over the phone to come outside, but instead shot himself in the head.

Meanwhile, Shepherd went to the airport on a city bus to meet Souvannarath, but was arrested while waiting.

Officers also sent online photos of Souvannarath to border agents at the Halifax airport, instructing them to detain anyone matching her description arriving on a flight from Chicago via New York.

When Souvannarath arrived, she was detained by the Canada Border Services Agency.

The arrests made international headlines and shocked Nova Scotians. The spectre of shooters opening fire in the food court of a popular mall threatened thousands of shoppers and workers and unsettled the city for months.

One judge noted that it was difficult to imagine a crime more damaging to a community’s sense of peace and security, while a Crown lawyer said the “horrible plan would have changed the face of Halifax forever.”

Rosinski cited the explicit intention to create mass panic and undermine the community’s sense of security as an aggravating factor in the sentencing.

“They intended to maximize dead and wounded casualties,” the judge wrote in his decision.

Hey, thanks to @Meowthkip for re-opening this thread at my request. I have something I think is worthy of it being reopened. As most of you know, I live in Halifax and Lindsay's little misadventure is what brought me to the Farms back in Feb 2015, and I have had a blast since joining nearly 4 years ago now!

Anyway, a co-worker of mine is into podcasts. Big time. Listens to many, I ain't too big on them myself. She likes true crime mysteries and stuff of that ilk. She also knows of my interest in Lindsay and what she had going on. So, she tells me today about this podcast doing something on Lindsay. I didn't think much of it, but remembered what she said just as I was getting ready to hit the sack and decided to look into what she was talking about. I didn't expect too much but, as I said, I thought it warranted the thread being re-opened after what I just came across!

Apparently this podcast is now in the middle of a 4 part series about our gal Calamity Jane.

But here was the kicker. It seems they have interviewed her while she was in the slammer and are using the audio of her speaking about the events etc.

Here are links and screenshots of the page for each of the first 2 episodes. Sadly, I don't have time right now to listen to them until tomorrow night, early morning in store. I want to listen to them unfettered by needing to do other shit. Like sleep!

But if someone gets a chance to check them out before then, hopefully they can start a discussion, if anything worthwhile to discuss! Maybe can get a couple of more pages of comments going before closing the thread again after discussion dies down.

Anyway, I think there may be some good stuff in there considering it is coming from the literal horse's mouth! Here are the details:

Oh shit. It's worth a listen. She explains about how media portrayed her vs how she is and explains in more detail why she identifies with columbiners and explains whether or not she would feel sorry for victims of shootings she hears about. She also confirms no internet access lol

Hearing it made me think the judge made a good call keeping her in jail.

Good to hear, checking them out later. And remember, there are two more parts to come and then we should get to listen to the more nutty shit Lindsay has in her head. Nice to know she will be sitting behind bars for quite possibly rest of her life. Maybe this dude should do the same as that British 7-something show. Every 7 years they go back and see what's changed. Be good project to follow for Lindsay and see what she has to say when she hits her 30s! LOL

It's a solid interview that I'd recommend listening to. Only thing that's mildly distracting is the cheesy ambient music that's thankfully lost in the prison phone's sound quality.

Sadly, Lindsay doesn't talk about Slavros or any of the IronMarch guys. She mentions getting into National Socialism from posting on Deviantart (which she doesn't mention by name). She adds that she chose NS out of logic rather than how it affected her personally.

I agree with the cheesy music. For those that don't feel like listening, she basically confirms that even after being convicted, her ideologies haven't changed and says that mass murderers don't feel pity for victims because they see other people/potential victims like objects, as part of a greater whole to their ideologies, like pieces on a chess board that can be sacrificed as part of a greater whole.

She basically says mass shootings are an attack on the public not against the specific person like enemies, and says it's an attack on the public. Like to eliminate those that won't contribute much to society and that are complacent and even describes them as sheeple.

And when he asks if she feels sorry for the lives that were lost and the victims that she hears about, she says she really doesn't feel any empathy for those people because when you have the mind of a mass shooter you don't see people as individuals, you see them as parts of a whole. And she says a lot of these people really are just pawns, because what do they really have to contribute other than equally unimpressive children.

I remember when the judge gave her a life sentence, the judge believe that she did not show any remorse and did not show any change in her ideologies, and I think in that reason the judge is correct.
