Got some shit on NaomiRomeroArt/Anxiety Fox from ~Japanese Furries~ on Line.

TLDR version, having 20k+ followers means rules don't apply and you can rig a lottery if you beg the day before.

Mochiri Works announces commissions for new fursuits, including 2 slots for people to submit their own original designs. This is the first time she's accepted designs from other people on a global scale, so obviously a lot of people are planning to apply.

She adds a tweet (3rd one down on the archive) to clearly indicate she cannot make characters based on copyright, which she's elaborated on the last time she opened commissions clearly stating:

・Characters that resemble anime characters will not be accepted.

This is mostly due to Japan having a huge faux par about copyrights and doujin artists etc. getting into shit for it. In Mochiri's defence she genuinely might not have realized as she's never expressed an interest in anime. Naomi may very well have just pulled the wool over her eyes.

The day before the commissions are due to open Naomi Romero visits Mochiri in person and makes purchases from her booth at Design Fes.

Commissions open and Mochiri is flooded with applications, she confirms that the winners will be chosen by lottery.

The winners are chosen and Naomi is one of the winners, no surprise there. She creates an account for her new fursuit, one named Hero that is the spitting image of her furry art of Deku from Boku no Hero Academia. Not even subtle, a straight up copyright character. So not only does she manage to "win" a lottery against hundreds of other applicants, but her character is accepted despite being against Mochiri's terms and conditions.

Japanese users start flipping their shit at how she gets to break the rules, mostly among themselves but a few take it to her newly created fursuit account. Unfortunately most of them got suspended and the kemono_hero account even got suspended for a short while. There was another person today who I managed to archive when I thought "shit i should probably cap this" but I actually didn't expect it to keep going.

I'm not gonna bother posting the Line caps over them being upset and discussing it because there's the hard facts, but some of them are threatening to throw stuff over the suit if they see it at a con and lots of racist foreigner weeaboo comments. Fun times.

Edit: I should point out that it's not even salt over not getting a slot, some of the people involved actually own Mochiri suits (or worse, KLine).

One of mochiri's terms was that the design can't be changed once accepted but here we go! Naomi has now renamed the account since my post and the same jp user before confronted mochiri.

This is certainly a case of cheating or mochiri's idea of "lottery" isn't the same as English. Considering skullbird won the skull suit last year and our friend rainandmaple got the eidolon it's pretty obvious she chooses who gets her suits.

Now she insists she didn't bribe Mochiri and that Mochiri designed the character when the application was for a character designed by someone else. Note the design, name and Twitter account were only changed from Deku after she was called out. She now insists the design is actually her.

I don't even know what to say right now. Mochiri is a big motherfucker suit maker and I'd be part of hundreds of people that'd love to own a suit from them. If it's irrevocably proven true that the original design slots were rigged from the start, why fucking try? They have the ability to make amazing unique designs in a wearable space and instead we're getting cockblocked by shitty anime characters. Bullshit.

I'm like 10% mad and 90% depressed. Trash. That's what this all is.

So, like, what says that the person is only thirteen? It says "13 for 18" which I have no clue what that means and I wasn't thinking it had to do with age (unless it's some sort of code by willing underaged people who want to fuck pedos), but the background with the bulges makes me doubt it. Most people aren't going to draw nsfw stuff for underaged furries unless they're pedos or underaged themselves. I say this namely because the most I've seen where something like that happens is when the kid is tricking others into thinking they're eighteen when they're not or it's just assumed people with the balls to commission lewds are legal adults. Now, it's entirely possible, but I guess I just need more evidence before I start calling for someone's crucifixion. If it is true, though, that's ridiculously fucked up. it's the same thing with kline or any other japanese fursuit makers. they hardly offer custom slots but unless you're in japan or japanese, they'll do it for you in a heartbeat.

like seely isn't japanese, but she's overly well known and she's living in japan currently and she has a custom mochiri suit of her character.

In regards to the Japan fursuit drama... for once, it's nice to have furry drama that doesn't involve politics, zoofucking, SJWs, pedophiles, and alt-furry.

Notice how they both have 20,000+ followers on Twitter and both met Mochiri in Japan and have her gifts before their suits? The only exception I know is Kaorufox, but she's basically a baby lolcow in the making who threatened to kill herself on IG after she was called out for tracing.

In regards to the Japan fursuit drama... for once, it's nice to have furry drama that doesn't involve politics, zoofucking, SJWs, pedophiles, and alt-furry.

Half the reason I decided to post about it. It's a nice break from Kero and petty vendettas.
