Lily's trying way too hard to make her genocidal psychopath self-insert look cute right now.

"Sure she murdered billions of innocent people, but look what a dork she is with her wife."

She could have worked if it was a deconstruction of people hungry with power and how much it can consume them. Too bad peet lacks the creativity to pull it or even think about outside of an edgy fanfic written by a 13 year old.

You’re thinking of the wrong character.

Lord Ryder, now better known as Valithria is the genocidal freak who razed Earth and destroyed galaxies; that’s Jerry’s self-insert.

I suggest you look at Jerry’s Tales of The Val’kyr wiki if you want a better idea of who’s who. And make sure you check out the “Jehovah” page. It’s golden.

I mean, that’s what the Wiki’s there for! He put it there so anyone can view it!

Part of me wonders if Lily spends so much time shitting on other media in a vain attempt to promote her own writing as somehow superior. However, I guarantee that if something she made did somehow succeed (in spite of being riddled with the worst clichés, and exhibiting a level of talent no better than the Wattpad fanfiction of a preteen Hot Topic mallrat), it would be mercilessly picked apart by people almost as insufferable as she is, and ultimately deemed "problematic".

Jerry's work is so trite and convolutedly "performed" (and I mean that in that his stories constantly shift to benefit whatever short-term catharsis he's desperately pining for) that I'm pretty sure even other "SJW"-types would call it out as the blatant power-fantasy lesbian-fetishizing dribble that it actually is.

No, actually, I'm 90% certain that this will be the case given that GamerGhazi has actually been doing a really good job calling him the dumbass that he actually fucking is in regards to his critiques of Korra and Steven Universe.

With the way he criticizes things like TV shows, novels, even some video games (X-Shaped might remember how Jerry talked shit about Samus for lacking depth on account of being a silent protag), one would think he has all the right ideas and opinions on how to write the perfect story, but his definition of a good story seems to be
  1. Create an edgy Mary Sue self insert
  2. Make every character an LGBT POC
  3. Make sure there isn’t a single character that can lose to an anime protagonist
  4. Poorly infuse your inane views into it, making it your own political safe space soapbox, alongside being your wish fulfillment playground
And yet he thinks he can justifiably shit on Martin and Lewis for their novels? He thinks he can call anime bad simply because “perverts watch it”? He thinks he can call Persona, Witcher, and Metroid boring? Lmao Jerry stop

You know what, I'm gonna say it; Goku could kick Valithria's ass effortlessly, and I don't care who knows it

it would need to exist in full first. (Ignoring stockholm for a bit) I've never taken Lily's claim to be a writer seriously given all her stories only exists as a series of excerpts and "this is a thing that happens" posts explaining plot details. Which I guess in itself is one thing, and I know on some level she's a writer of scripts for Glass of Water episodes, but the fact she refuses to show off any fully finished works or works in progress to her work belies any claims of being a writer.

If you broke down fictional character's feats down to a science a la "Death Battle" you'll come to realize that magic is a bitch and that numbers are everything. All of Ryder's victories and impressive feats are fantastical, vague, non-specific circumstantial powers that fall apart under scrutiny and analysis because their limits aren't defined. This is why Marvel and DC characters end up being way more dangerous and destructive than they initially appear to be because their actions have readable and tangible comparisons in real life. Using a magic spell to blow up a moon isn't an indication of power because magic doesn't exist. But we can gauge how strong someone can potentially be based on how easily they destroy a mountain with a punch.

So following actual logic, something Jerry lauds and pats himself on the back for repeatedly, Ryder is a little bitch boy because breaking down the realism of a situation, there's no way to assume that any magic he has can match the speed and force of a concentrated beam of light a la Goku's signature move. Characters in the Dragon Ball series specifically can make short work of dodging it, which is where Jerry probably gets his skewed perception of "Just step to the side lol", because they were physically and mentally/spiritually trained to do so. The only indication that Ryder can perform such a feat is that we're told he's stronger than God or has beaten God.

I don't care how much he wants to push his "Ryder is the bestest because he is smarterer than everybody even Jebus ecksdee" shit onto literally everybody that confronts him about it, Ryder's """""advantages"""" in a fight are absolute trite and don't hold under scrutiny. I'm pretty sure we've spoken about this in the thread before, but Jerry ridiculously expects people to believe that because Ryder's fighting style is "Realistic" that automatically means he beats anything that would theoretically smite him within seconds. Yet Ryder can destroy whole planets and travel vast realities across time and space and we're expected to just be ok with because "He's super smart guys."

Super smart except he doesn't carry neither a shield nor a helmet yet engages in sword combat.

Sorry Jerry, but """""""""REALISTICALLY"""""""""" your Gary Stu would be a massive fucking target for archers in any battlefield and if you come up with broken ass fucking logic rules to justify why that couldn't happen you also open the floodgates to characters that are even moreso fantastical and actually have statistics and measurable feats to kick his ass six ways to Sunday because taking your word for it that he can win is just absurd.

But hey I don't expect a toddler to be consistent with their story-telling, so it'd be unfair to push higher standards onto you.

Jerry's such a smug fuck about his ocs.

'My OC is the STRONGEST because he's SMART and you have to have a high IQ to defeat him/her!' depite the fact most of said characters feats are just low-tier DB bullshit like blowing up teh moon and exterminating the human race. He's every bit the anime character he says he hates, but it's okay because he can live vicariously through Lord Ryder, because unlike Superman, Lord Ryder is a twink and Jerry can relate to that more easily. Why do you think he became 'Valithria' suddenly?

Even worse was when he made an OC that was a muscular monster-woman and acted like it was a bold, unique character that no one

Now hold on, you fucking Alt-Right, Nazi Drumpf supporting, bigots. Jerry da Hedgehog totes made a video debunking Mary Sue and Gary Stu as bullshit buzzwords made up by fedora tipping man-babies. Don't you member?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3l8pafPouqQ
And calling something a buzzword doesn't automatically debunk someone's argument. In fact, using "buzzword" to label terms whenever one encounters a word they don't like or one that they want to deny its validity as an actual term just because they don't want it being applied to themselves or their work ironically makes the term itself a buzzword.

X Shaped pretty much went over why Ryder is a Gary Stu. So they weren't using it like a buzzword. Those who use logic know you can't dismiss a term just by labeling it.

Some other thing to poiny regarding his "strong women are sexy" blustering is that none of his favorite characters are toned or outwardly buff and while he tries to pretend that his OC's are stacked women, Lizzy is either incapable of accurately portraying it or he's made note to not request that his girls be more muscular than Lizzy already draws them. (read: Their arms are lumpy instead of smooth which means muscle except no it doesn't it just looks lazy and fucking you're a hack trying to claim they have more muscle that we are regularly shown.)

No, more important to Jerry is that all his favorite characters are "owo kawaii lebbers yummy lookit the gay grills" made all the more apparent by his constant posting of MLP lesbian fanart or constantly writing how dumbass Mary-Sues are toes cute and adowable guys seriously.

That in it together makes it sound like "muscle girls arent hot" is projection on his part more than anything which is exactly in his character.

You raise an excellent point about Lord Ryder there (especially with the whole "lol, she was a trans-woman the whole time" thing), but I also distinctly remember that there was a post on Lily's Blog once, from before she nuked it, that claimed Ascentia to be her self-insert. In response to someone calling Lord Ryder her self-insert, now that I think of it...

And thanks for suggesting the Wiki, that place is a riot
I mean, come on!
"Jehovah is the central antagonist of the series"
but
"Jehovah's portrayal in Tale of the Valkyrie is largely relegated to backstory and lore, and he has yet to make a proper appearance as a character."
Great fucking central antagonist there, Lily!
Jehova literally just dicks around the galaxy for a couple billion years before showing up ONCE and then dying.

Another great thing about Tales of the Valkyr is the deep and consistent characterisation.
Case in point Valithria:
- She despises mortals and considers their lives so worthless that the idea of human life having any value is laughable to her.
- But she feels guilty about wiping out an entire galaxy full of people that someone threw at her (yes, someone chucked a whole galaxy at Valithria and she destroyed the whole thing. Presumably with a contemptuous backhand swing because that strikes me as the kind of thing Lily would think is cool) because those people hadn't done anything to personally offend him. You know, those mortals she despises on general principle and whose lives she considers to be utterly worthless. Totes feels bad about that one.
- But she also doesn't hesitate to slaughter the population of entire planets for the crime of living on the same planet as the handful of people who actually done something to personally offend her, because she can't be bothered to tell the difference between the innocent and the guilty.

LOL! And Jerry has the idiotic nerve to say he knows anything about good story telling. Valithria's characterization is all over the place and he doesn't understand the concept of a main villain.

To be fair, the same could be said about Sauron. In fact, I think Jerry even went into this in one of his older videos...? How Sauron wasn't an outright villain, but a menacing presence, and comparing it to one of the MLP villains who essentially served the same exact purpose, and ranked that villain (Sombra, I believe) as one of the worst MLP villains. Something like that.

Of course lore and worldbuilding is something Jerry seemed to hate out of the blue so he's gotta find some way to rectify Jehovah being limited to backstory and lore so that his totally excellent story is totally excellent in every way that every other piece of media isn't... or something

Or not, Jerry isn't known for consistency, even by his own admission lol
