They have something like 7000 active users any given day based on recent stats, blocking over 1000 is extreme but they'd still have 6 out of 7 people to interact with.
I'm surprised no one stands up for Ninja and his crippling anxiety with being accused of terminal ligma daily.

They aren't ignoring active posters, in many cases. Some play a private game of fantasy moderation, ignoring based on probable actioning and comparing scores with the actual staff. Others filled it up right away and most of the people they disagreed with have fucked off voluntarily. In both cases, the ignore list is a carefully curated trophy, so they want to make it bigger.
It is top-shelf weird as fuck. I don't know why they think a list in their user control panel is so significant, but they do. If I could expose any resetera database content, it would be everyone's ignore list. The infighting would be instant and incredible, especially as staff got raked over the coals for using the function at all.

Keep in mind that Ninja nowadays is as lukewarm and kid friendly as it gets but is somehow is still a Nazi to these exceptional individuals. He is probably drying his tears with the millions he is making playing Fortnite.

Probably because some do. Though it's limited to those that are out of touch but still believe they have their "fingers on the pulse of the gaming community". They are the same people who still care about IGN, GameSpot, and Metacritic. ResetEra also have a few key allies in places like 343 and Nintendo Treehouse.
And then there's the echochamber. Since everybody who disagrees is banned or scared off, all they hear is how great they are and how everyone agrees with them.

It's interesting to see them put intelligence agencies and secret police forces on a pedestal. Every thread mentioning Assange has them get a hard-on over the idea of the FBI renditioning living daylight out of him, and one of the primary reasons they hate Snowden is because he outsmarted the NSA, and now CIA is the flawless hero in their little drama (starting at #4).

I'm actually kind of surprised, I know establishment neoliberals are full of CIA niggers now and hate those two but I figured hard lefty REEEEera types' hatred of Amerikkka would outweigh that seeing as how they usually demonize the CIA to the level of a saturday morning cartoon supervillain organization.
