I dunno why but all the mods and admins involved in old neogaf and ResetEra are this particular strain of pathetic that's really enjoyable. Whether it was Amirox the kiddy diddler, the chronicles of fatass Besada, or new rising stars like trannyNicole and Hecht the Iraq veteran who bitches about his nonexistent war medals and doxes game company employees over tweets.
They pretty much intentionally scour the Earth the for the most pathetic of people to have as mods and admins.

I don't know why Dead or Alive brings out the autism in so many left leaning game sites, but it does. I can't find the link, but there was an article where one woke game journalist complained about Dead or Alive Xtreme characters being white, only to completely change the article when people pointed out it was a majority Asian cast. @Jaimas you happen to have it? There was also an article on Kotaku that attempted to argue liking big breasts meant you were a paedophile.

My running theory on it stems from the fact that the assholes pushing this hate men, but there's a bit more to it than that. In their worldview, no alternatives to dating some shrill autistic harridan can be allowed to exist. Just like you're not allowed to have any gods before Social Justice and you're not allowed to have escapism, lest you realize that there is more life to live, you're not allowed to fantasize about conventionally attractive women in their circles, because attractiveness is something that the insane childless psychopaths running these cults of personality virtually never have.

Such is their hatred of such women that they are threatened by fucking fictitious and even 2D women. The same people screaming about a need to ban waifu shit are, without exception, the same people who will scream about a need to outlaw grid girls or push the EU to ban thin fashion models, regardless of how many women such a decision will ultimately impact. As for the woke journo declaring that the game was white supremacy, there was one that did, and they deleted fucking everything regarding it. A single Google cache is all that remains of the article, and if you know our propensity for snapshotting everything of remote value we come cross that should give you a general idea of how thoroughly this one got scrubbed.

The last one is m'favorite though: It wasn't DOA specifically that was involved with the incident in question, but Jed Whitaker was the one who wrote a long-winded article declaring that every fan of weeb games was a pedophile - a position that, ultimately, spelled the end of his career at Destructoid, at which point he blamed Gamergate. It is worth noting that when he was fired, this was during a time when he was already working for free, on top of the fact that this forced the site owner to publicly apologize for his outbursts.

Far as I've skimmed (and haven't really even been paying that much attention) one minute they're admitting they "went too far with DOAX3" and covering up characters - the next they're reassuring their devoted fanbase the game will have plenty of jiggle in the funbags and plenty of alternative outfits. This is a series that with DOA5 alone pumped out over $1000 worth in skimpy DLC outfits. Personally I can't see anything convicing them to give up this avenue of money making. Time will tell I guess.. and Resetera will sperg the fuck out over it either way by the mere fact that it exists at all.

You say that, and I'm included to agree, but this is a company that didn't release Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 in the west despite the English language version already existing simply because they were afraid of backlash. They have also toned down the characters. Kasumi going from this

The 2 theories are not mutually exclusive. It could be possible they are pandering to SJWs while also hiding the skimpy outfits behind a pay wall. Though I'm inclined to agree that it's simply a case of management flip-flopping between the 2 extremes as each announcement gets a negative response from certain parts of the internet.
