Earth in this case if of course Twitter and the life he refuses to let go of is his SGG persona. He will never take the first step towards transitioning or even shaving his beard, so from a sane perspective the trans shit is pointless stupidity. His "friends" are accounts that tweeted at him sometimes, losing them is losing nothing, mourning them is mourning nothing. His greatest fear in life is that people on twitter will block him. It's time to let go of all that fucked up shit and see that his devils might actually be angels.

A story told to me by my dad so it might have been tweaked to make it a better story: When I was a baby our neighbors were a retired doctor and his stay-at-home wife that he had been married to since forever. The wife had a medical emergency and had to have surgery and stay in the hospital for a week and for the first first time in his life this man had to feed himself. He had never done that and he had never shopped either.
When my dad went by to check in on him he found him sitting on the floor in front of the fridge, clutching a tin can of hotdogs, crying because he didn't know how to open it and because he was so hungry. That was day 3 of his wife's hospital stay, Jake will probably have a similar breakdown on hour 3 if his mom goes away for a week.

I believe this story, or at least that it's only mildly embellished. This sort of thing happens a lot with old people. Geriatric practitioners routinely see seniors in their care who've never paid bills, cooked, done laundry, or whatever other chore got offloaded to the other person in their relationship, and are lost when a spouse dies. It's not even that uncommon for elderly widowers to be too embarrassed to learn to do laundry, so they just wear clothing items until they're too dirty to re-wear, throw them out, and wear a new one. The poorer they are, the less frequently they get replaced.

Today, a doctor wouldn't have that problem...if you have money, any semi-literate person can at least just order a steady supply of sustenance and clothing to their door, even if their only way of dealing with it afterward was "throw everything away." Jake would be exactly like the old widowers who have little/no income, never learned to manage household finances, and didn't have any kids to look after them. That's one of the ways people become homeless in old age.

And at Jake's age, he doesn't qualify for most of the services he could get as an actual old widower. Somehow, the government hasn't yet prioritized tendies delivery to able-bodied shirkers as a prime target for welfare spending dollars. Upon being made homeless, he'll see his only option as claiming he's an abuse victim and suing women's shelters to let him in, like Fire.

I had a quick look at what's available to rent around the East Lyme area and Jake would be struggling to afford a room in a decent share house, let alone an apartment of his own. Decent rooms started around $600 and OKish 1 bedroom apartments around $700.

I guess Jake doesn't think he got enough RTs/donations a couple of hours ago.
