A while back, some of us were wondering what became of Jaxon Buell and his parents. They were huge media/attention whores for the first few years of Jaxon's life, then seemed to drop off the face of the earth.
The consensus was that they had split up, but there wasn't much info, except an ad on some shopping/selling site from Brittany in which she was trying to sell a wedding/engagement ring set, presumably her own.
Then there were a rumors that they had put Jaxon in a care facility and that he was no longer living with either parent.
Some recent info from their Facebooks confirms that Brandon and Brittany Buell have definitely split up. I dont know if they are officially divorced, in the middle of getting one or legally separated, but they are now living in different states. Brandon apparently moved back to Mount Dora, Florida where his parents live and Brittany is living in Wilmington North Carolina, which is where they had moved a few years ago when they were last together.

The rumors about Jaxon being in a hospital or care facility aren't true or if they were true at one time, they aren't now. Jaxon currently lives with Brittany and she appears to have sole custody of him. When Brandon and Brittany were together, she had quit her job to stay home and care for Jaxon full time, but now she's working outside the home again. I've no idea whether it's because she wants to work or she has to, now that she's a single mother.
She currently has an in-home nurse helping her care for Jaxon and was recently looking for one to work the weekends.
Brandon meanwhile, is travelling a lot, for work, recreation or both and seems to be having fun enjoying his newly single status. When he's not flying out of state, he spends his time going out with friends, attending BBQs and enjoying the Florida sun.

He doesnt seem to see Jaxon very much. It appears that he's visited his him once within the last several months. He managed to squeeze some time in between all his other trips to fly up to North Carolina so he could spend father's day weekend with him. Brandon cooed and went on about how much he just adores his little guy and loves him so much, but after Father's Day, it was back to fun in the sun with all his new found friends. He hasn't seen him since that visit in June.
Jaxon seems to be about the same as always. In other words, still a potato. Not that one would expect him to be any better, but he doesnt appear to have deteriorated as much as I'd have expected either. Then again, it's hard to tell from the few pictures they've posted.

I’d say mom chose to go back to work, working is a lot more pleasant than caring for a seizure ridden baby that lacks a brain. It can be hard to stay home all day selflessly caring for children, but you get the satisfaction from all the effort in watching them grow and develop - that’s not happening with Jaxon. It’s all the bad and none of the good.

Funny it was Brandon making a whole career about being Mr. Christian Pro-Life daddy of the Year, going on all expense paid trips DC to meet with the pro-life “every potato is precious” lobbying groups. So all the free money and pro-life Dad career ahead of him didn’t make it worth sticking around to be a father caring for his severely disabled son, just going to dump that totally not-fun shit on his ex-wife.

But I’m sure he’d still happily pocket any speaking fees if any group is stupid enough to still hire him to speak about his inspiring life choice to be a potato Dad a few days out of the year.

Also, his FB is such empty bullshit. Anyone who publicly posts that many “brag” shots during common get togethers and mundane city trips has some real ego issues. But his eye rolling “profound” Post about his big one day with Jaxon in June is the best summary of his bullshit. He’s got to be in some sort of sales job with that level of try hard bullshit or just trying to piss off his ex-wife. He probably thinks of his FB as selling the Brandon Lifestyle Brand TM.

The worst thing about him is that he's STILL doing the whole pro life narrative. I think part of his trip to KC was to speak at a right to life convention. Of course he still took the time to go out and have fun, so basically it was just another free trip for him, but it came with the bonus of praise and asspats from the fundies who still think he's such a model Christian father. I dont know what kind of child support he pays, so I can't say anything about whether he's shouldering any financial burden for his son or not, but he's sure no longer taking on the day to day responsibilities that come with being a father to a profoundly disabled child. Yet he still wants to force others to have babies like Jaxon .

Obviously, most of us realize that Jaxon wouldn't know the difference between a trip to the beach with his father or being locked in a dark room.
However, as we were discussing above, Brandon took it upon himself to become a spokesperson for the pro life movement and he still does their conventions and lectures people about how all life is precious. He also goes on and on about how much he adores his kid and how Jaxon is his hero. He also claims that Jaxon does have thoughts and feelings. Most of us know that's BS, but if he believes it, he should act like it. If he's going to talk the talk, he should walk the walk and at least be physically present in Jaxon's life. Even if Jaxon does have all the awareness of a pet rock, its still a lot of work taking care of his physical and medical needs and Brandon basically left it all to his former wife. She has a nurse to help her, but its not the same as having a spouse to share the day to day responsibilities.
Basically he still wants to hold himself up as the model of a great Christian father, while living like a single, childless frat boy.

How any parents looking at that child would sell everything in a useless attempt to save it is beyond me. I get that they are poor, uneducated Cambodians. But it’s clear as a bell just looking at that child, her life is not meant to be. I would very sadly find out what comfort care was available and ask for no life sustaining treatments. I know motherly love. But it’s wrong to find for that kind of life.

I really hope this kid isn’t like a Lola or Jackson, able to breath on for years but not really being alive.

You can see her fontanelle shapes. It's really frightening. Probably the only thing that kept her from dying at or before birth was that her scalp was closed over the defect.

I'd be all for this if her brain was at least normal enough to lead some kind of life. But this baby will be a potato no matter what. Ah's brain is likely mostly in the huge lump in the back of her head.

This child is going to die. The parents are too poor. So unless people step in to pay that's it. And honestly, while it's sad, this is better. She'd need such lifelong care that there's no way poor Cambodian peasants can deal with this. This will affect the quality of life for future children if they must also deal with a potato. Nature is saying "This baby can't live. So focus your energy of having one that will." I know that sounds cold. But that's nature.

Jesus fucking Christ that's horrifying to see. I will never understand how people can look at extreme deformities like that and claim everyone who says it's better off dead are literal monsters. I can see wanting to save a kid who has a severe deformity or medical condition, but a normal brain like Juliana Wetmore, who we've mentioned before or Adalia Rose, the little girl with progeria. Adalia's situation is sad, both because she's not likely to live a long life and because she is aware enough to know that she's different from other kids. But she's bright and seems to enjoy the life she has, so I can understand her parents wanting to get her the best medical care in order to improve or maintain her quality of life and give her as many good years as possible.

Tres is slightly less mentally impaired than the Hartley's or Jaxon Buell because he can at least notice other people around him and interact with his toys, but he's still mostly a drooling potato who has multiple seizures a day and will never be able to do anything for himself and will need round the clock care as long as he lives. His mother seems to think that people who dont see his life as a wonderful miracle are just lacking in empathy, but I wonder if she had to live a life like his, would she still think it was so great.
