It's like an inverse prosperity doctrine meets backwards reasoning. If you lack privilege, then everything you do ends in failure and humiliation do to the game being rigged against you. Jake's life is full of failure and humiliation, therefore he is not privileged, therefore he is trans.

Jake didn't ever aspire to higher education. As with getting a job, he considered it something which would take time away from his "real" vocation of being a games writer. From his teen years, he very much relied on someone recognising his "genius" and offering him paid work for doing what he liked doing. He *still* relies on that.
What he didn't foresee is that fields which start out as "hobby" fields don't remain that way. A very limited amount of people who get in on the ground floor will make a career in the field with no qualifications, but as the field expands the standards for entry will become higher. He missed the boat with both gaming writing and social justice writing, not to mention game development.

No. "Natal' was used by both trans and cis people for decades to distinguish between born women and trans women. It's use is not "surreptitious" just because the woke crowd has decided "cis" is the currently acceptable label. Likewise, the suffragette flag and colours were used by feminist groups in general long before gender identity ever became a divisive feminist issue. If you view it's use as a "dog whistle", then perhaps you *are* paranoid.
