Does anyone else find it strange that a person who earns approx $100k a year can't organise / (apparently) afford to fly some 3 hours in his own country??

Can't afford to travel to see his parents; can't afford to go to California (despite it being a life long dream); never been north to Vancouver...

I know his spending habits & expensive tastes have been questioned...Seems that despite being a shut-in hermit he can still spend plenty. Must be Amazon purchases

Looking at Twinge again for the first time in a while, as November 29th made two years since the Great Twitch Return. Phil will probably never return to PUBG*, but it's left its mark. 172 hours between December 2017 and July 2018. Dragon Quest 11 has ballooned up to #4 in only 3 months. I can only lament not having watched a second of undoubtedly riveting Dragon Quest kahntent. Ordering these games by cash or salt generated instead of hours played would give off somewhat of a different look!

As an aside I caught a blurb of him saying he works far more than 40 hours a week. Has me scratching my head a little. I wish he'd put a number on how much he actually thinks he works because at this rate I wouldn't be surprised if he honestly considers ginposting at 3am part of the business because he considers his twitter promotion and advertising.

i said it just yesterday or 2 days ago, phils avg viewers spike. but as time goes on the spikes get lower and lower. he isnt growing, hes slowly dying

I'm honestly not even sure I believe he's spending exorbitant amounts on treats and trinkets. He may have reigned in some of the behavior of showing off his acquisitions that he used to be all about but he also has a funny habit of still needing to do it when he can. $300 headphones, new tv and PS4Pro and such like. Even if in the same breath he'll tell you it was a donation or the only reason he got it was because it's a requirement for his bizness.. it doesn't take away from the fact there's probably some level of desire within him to show off his kool stuff. If he was still doing it I think he'd be finding weird ways of explaining how Blurays are for the business as well.

It is difficult to imagine what in the name of fuck he could possibly be buying every month when he has absolutely no passion for anything. Though he did let slip the secret special hobbies that he shares with Kat (once again he just can't keep that mouth shut) though my mind draws on little there beyond them awkwardly hanging out at an animal shelter once a week on their day off. The day off that they can always consistently pair up on despite the fact that Kat's schedule seems to vary wildly,

I'd sooner reckon on him conveniently being unable to afford all these things he simply can't actually be bothered doing. The idea of travelling for more than an hour seems like a nightmare to him these days. Almost like he genuinely fears being away from home or something. Trolls may well break in and steal his Legacy Edition harddrives!

Speculation sends us back and forth endlessly of course but it really can't be all things. He's either spending way too much money or he isn't. The idea that he hasn't squirreled away anything at all is every bit as mental as blowing it all on useless fancy shit he doesn't need. It's hard for me to believe he doesn't have some cash behind him.. until I remember that to DSP a rainy day fund is literally money you blow on a boring day.. because you are in fact bored. I just can't decide which dumb version of DSP is the realest one in my head.

If I was to guess what he'd spent a bunch of money on though I'd look towards the fact he won't show off the house anymore. I think he could have spent thousands redecorating the place because it works twofold - he wants to do it and IT'S HIS MONEY TO DO WITH AS HE PLEASES DOOD. He could also have told himself that if he does indeed have to give the place up, the work on sprucing up the place up and getting repairs done is already taken care of. It actually makes sense.. it's just that he's a weirdo who has to turn even somewhat rational decisions into something deceitful for the hell of it.

There is no evidence he reigned in his spending, but he definitely has learned to not show off/hide what he does buy over the years. His living room might be stuffed to the gills with trinkets, he might have a nest egg. All we know is that he's crying poor while making around six figures according to the best estimates. And he constantly brags about hiding whats in his home.

How is "I have nothing new to show you guys" bragging? I'm just saying a lot of peoples speculation gets out of hand real fast. Stuff like the internet outage weekend = extravagant staycation splurge is not a fact it's a guess with a hint of humor behind it. We know he's deceptive but a lot of what's pulled up as evidence is old as fuck. All signs point to him still being terrible with money for sure but we don't need to invent things to make him look bad.. he does that all on his own.

Knowing his spending habits he'd definitely blow through 16 grand on a vacation that's only 2 states away and that most people would only spend a fraction of that amount on.
It'd be a waste, of course -- I guarantee his vacation would look something like this:
-waddle around the streets to tourist traps and buy overpriced trinkets
-waddle to some overly expensive restaurant where he'll gorge himself
-waddle to some store and buy more useless shit
-waddle to the Santa Monica pier and take a picture before immediately leaving and not going for a swim
-waddle back to the hotel and spend the majority of the vacation there tweeting and watching Netflix

He's said several times he won't show parts of his house or do tours of his stuff because detractors will find a way to spin it negatively. He will still show off or talk about a ludicrous purchase every now and then, just not as often as before. Shame because it was sorta entertaining seeing all the stuff he blew money on.
