how anyone can see papayas angry ranting as being a good friend is beyond me. The entire dynamic between these two characters is so transparently dysfunctional to anyone with a normal understanding of human relationships. which I hope is not a high bar to set.

I usually avoid this, but here is a very slight powerlevel.
I discuss Floraverse and this thread with a friend every so often, simply because of the sheer heaps of stupidity and vileness PK shows. Said person is also autistic and very sensitive, so I spare the more horrifying details and mostly talk about the character interactions and comic page layouts or the text.
After showing the current comic, said friend became very distraught and even teared up in frustration, mentioning that this highly reminded them of times they were yelled at over expressing feelings and being so humiliated that they thought they were worthless.
I have talked about Floraverse with them enough times but never have I gotten such a strong reaction from the simple, yet horrible SFW pages than I have with this current one.
Even with Neons transgender comic (that is just simply mostly SFW in its nature), I got a "It's stupid to change your gender over a tree house invitation."
I felt the need to bring this up, simply because this friend could very well be one of the followers of the comic and it seems to just have such an immense impact on them.

i endured about 4 years of absolute abuse in high school from an authority figure, and she would berate me and then somehow hide it under the guise of "im just being hard on you because i know you can be better!" i eventually quit the group i was a part of because of it.
toxic people do this shit all of the time - it's how they can be fucking horrible without immediately being dropped by the victim theyre being horrible to. see also: a parent doing terrible things and then putting the blame on the child like, "I'm only doing this because I love you!"

also, sorry for your friend. i totally get that frustration and empathize with them. if someone who has trouble distinguishing social norms/behaviors can immediately see how toxic a situation is, really makes ya think abt the ppl who still think this shit is healthy

i haven't been able to focus on anything that's going on in these godawful pages since they started because i keep getting too distracted by how stupid the horse looks in the crop top hoodie + undershirt + skirt combo. it might actually be the ugliest outfit for an OC i've ever seen. the hood isn't even long enough to pull over his head.

The vibe I get from Quill's clothes:
(PK would probably look at this picture and say there's nothing odd about it.)
The simple matching star pattern on the hoodie and skirt do nothing to complement the character's design--I don't think it'd complement anyone that isn't a child. Maybe I could forgive the tacky clothes if they weren't drawn so lazily. They're just clung tight onto the character's bodies with only small, neat folds at the ends to indicate that they're not attached to their skin. I know PK wants those bold, progressive points, but so many designers could do it better. Do the fans really not have anything else to fill this "liberal" niche? They're better off watching reruns of Steven Universe. (Plain star-patterned clothing...Did PK try to rip off the fashion in that cartoon, too?)

This is meant to be dynamic but that's such an underwhelming laser beam and flat angle that takes away any sense of space between the characters. Neon's only firing at one enemy and the others can easily get to her.

I think this definitely takes the cake for the worst outfit in my opinion.
not fair, that's like comparing a beauty parlor cow to a ratking cow.
at least this outfit sort of matches the comic's magical fantasy setting. a crop top hoodie in the midst of all the dresses and other formal outfits is pretty jarring.
