Diseased #Comicsgate - The Culture Wars Hit The Funny Books!

wow they wasted no time since Stan died to start making changes to Spider-Man:
Marvel Teases The Destruction Of The Marvel Universe
Matthew Mueller 12/11/2018
That article title is pure clickbait. All it's saying is they're going to have some event at some point that will retcon in some moment where Peter got inspired to be Spider-Man again during the old "Spider-Man: No More". Nothing about that teases "the destruction of the Marvel Universe" over your usual comicbook stuff.

Destruction in the literal sense, not the metaphorical which we've crossed multiple times already depending on who you ask. So far none have been the end of 616 and they shouldn't be.

Forgive the esoteric reference, but...

will no one rid me of this turbulent cunt?
I know she’s trying real hard to get a thread made about her. But I won’t be give to her, just like Zack won’t give her the D.

And that moment that inspired Peter to return to being Spider-Man was a proud Muslim trans gay furry woman of color in a wheelchair sucker punching a small child for the crime of being a straight white male.

And yes, @AnOminous, that Muslim trans gay furry woman of color in a wheelchair was indeed Albert Einstein.

Is Meyer's Twitter deleted again?

What do we say about SJW and standards?

Ren: 'Stop using this woman's life to score points!'
Also Ren: *uses Heather Heyer to score points*

Her being a massive fucking hypocrite is nothing new. It's just something to see it so plainly laid out. She's one of those people who seems to thrive in negative emotion, and that she's so easily shrugged off her past bigotry while actively, personally accusing her ideological enemies as Nazis, misogynists and other bigots is, well, not unexpected for SJWs but certainly irritating.

"So what if we had a flashback where the night after Uncle Ben died, Peter and May went out for pizza and talked about what they're going to do to make ends meet. The twist? The waiter is....A GAY BLACK MAN!!! He tells them some kind words and suggests an idea for them. We just broke your canon, fanboys. #NotSorry."

Literally has no impact on anything and anyone who thinks anything is "destroyed" after that is probably autistic. The sad part is trying to point this out to Marvel would probably lead them to want to make more drastic ideas instead of understanding your hype machine is broken if everything is the biggest big thing ever.

Once again, Twitter legal expertise shows through. Ren, you twit, what Zack was doing in Charlottesville, and the content of his character in general, has no bearing on his case, and Zaid is an idiot if he tries to connect the two. Even if he was marching with the white nationalists (he wasn't) and even if he did have anything to do with Heyer's death (he didn't), that has no bearing on whether what Waid did was legal or justified. Meyer being an asshole (he isn't) doesn't mean it's okay to do bad or illegal things to him.

I'm guessing she's referring to Zack's military service. But I don't blame you for forgetting about that; he hardly ever mentions it.

Oh man, now I am so hoping Waid and Zaid attempt to inject Charlottesville into the trial. The smackdown from the Judge would be truly epic. I mean you can't do that! Just watching Meyer's attorney tear into them would be worth the price of admission.

If it turns out to be Jameson I'd read that. A man who doesn't hate Parker but can't stop hating Spider-Man, keeping up a charade to ensure no one knows or gets suspicious from a sudden narrative shift. I've always preferred him as a jackass with hidden morals over the snake oil bullshit that seems to be the way they portray him now.

Again, my favorite moments regarding him are two scenes in different cartoons. The first being the 90's cartoon where we learn why he hates masked men -- an event brought about by his zealous nature to show the truth. The second being the more recent Spectacular - I think - where he's getting tossed around by a super villain, but refuses to give up the identity of the Spider-Man photographer even as he sees Parker is just outside the door.

Him being smart enough to connect the dots - from his decades as a reporter - and stage a moment to inspire Parker back into being Spider-Man would be a fun read. Of course when he found out who Spider-Man really was would have to take part after creating a certain villain, perhaps this staged gesture a means to atone nearly killing someone close to him as I recall Jameson always thinking highly of Peter.

But enough gushing about Jameson. It'll never happen.

Isn't that from spider-man 1? Might've happened in spectacular as well, but I know it happened in spider-man 1.

My memory has it animated, but I remember now the scene you're talking about. Yeah, that's a good scene too.

It's pretty obvious to me that Ren keeps coming after Zack like a psychopath so someone will escalate and harrass her in real life, that way she can play even more of a victim. She's way more entertaining (and less irritating) when she's irrelevant and being ignored; Zack shouldn't have acknowledged her.

Damn I was too busy irl to archive while capping. Oh well, I capped everything he posted.

He took down his twitter again. Good move, now stay out and don’t peek.
Eh, his reasoning was better than EVS on most occasions; he had a literal psychopath who screams of "stalker who wants to fuck him" use dead bodies in a very disgusting manner to try and full on defame him, possibly in the sad attempt that it gets brought up in the lolsuit by Zaid the Coattail Rider.

Still, proud of him to can it after he crushes the dumb cunt silly.

I really don't mind changing a character's race, but one thing that kind of bothered me about Miles Morales is just that, that he wasn't really Spider-man, because they couldn't be arsed to create an original black hero, and they couldn't be brave enough to make the real Spider-man black.

Miles doesn’t bother me really. Legacy characters have been a thing in comics since DC replaced all their heroes with new guys with the same names, if not sooner.

I haven't really sat down and read any of Miles' issues, but from what I've heard he's one of the better "minority" legacy characters.

There was one bit of an issue that I saw online that had Miles getting frustrated at a vlogger who was a pretty obvious stand-in for SJWs who creams her jeans when she manages to catch a glimpse of his skin color through a tear in his suit. He stops the video and talks to his friend about how he wants to be known as just Spiderman, not Brown Spiderman, and he asks why his skin color matters. Even though I don't read him, that got quite a bit of respect from me.

Zoe Quinn's neo-Vertigo book Goddess Mode came out today, and it's being discussed in the Zoe Quinn thread. Scans have already leaked to pirate sites if you're so inclined. I love/hated this panel posted by Norvic:

Imagine an entire book full of those colors…

A little background on Quinn for those unfamiliar; Quinn was a key figure in the early days of the GamerGate saga. She developed a simple text adventure game about mental illness called Depression Quest which was fawned about in the press but ignored by pretty much anyone else. A disaffected ex-boyfriend posted a rambling blog post accusing her of cheating on him with five other men while she was with him, some of whom were games journalists. Other games journalists went on the attack against the author of this post and those discussing it - the "Gamers Are Dead" sub-saga, as a common theme in the articles was that the typical AAA gamer stereotype was no longer a significant segment of the market (which is arguably true given the rise of mobile/casual gaming, but the way they phrased it was universally hostile). The #GamerGate hashtag came about on Twitter - first posted by actor Adam Baldwin, of all people - in the following days.

Zoe milked the situation for all it's worth and didn't hesitate to paint herself as a victim even though, from the facts that have been verified from the ex-boyfriend's posts, she unambiguously victimized him. Aside from the predictable Twitter sperging, she was able to parlay the situation into a conference at the freaking UN, of all places, though from what I understand it was poorly-attended. (Apparently international representatives with diplomatic immunity had better things to do, go figure.) Aside from that, though, she pretty much did nothing interesting until October 2016, when she started a KickStarter campaign for an adventure game co-produced with parody gay porn story author Chuck Tingle. That game was due to be released in "early 2017" (the reward tiers say February 2017), so of course it was released on time and all the backers were satisfied ha ha ha ha just wanted to check if you were still paying attention - it has yet to be released and has the typical "Sorry for the delay" KickStarter updates every three to six months. But thankfully she wasn't so inundated with work making sure these backers finally get the products they have already paid for that she couldn't take the time out to start work on a comic book.

Dear Lord, those last two paragraphs turned out much longer than intended. I pay way too much attention to internet drama. What am I doing with my life? :(

Miles was a bother because the Ultimate Peter Parker was just beginning to hit his mature stride and he was suddenly replaced because Magneto made a tidal wave hit NYC and the real Spider-Man was missing & presumed dead for awhile. If Miles had started in his own side book I'd be less angry, but he literally took over an existing timeline that a lot of people liked and effectively tanked it. It doesn't help that he's an obviously forced diversity checklist(half black half latino, single parent household), existing powerset but expanded upon, and writing is complete shit.

Writing is really where the rubber meets the road. Even silly concepts can work in the hands of a skilled writer, while the coolest idea ever still turns to shit if you let some incompetent hack have at it.

Maybe the colors are an attempt to distract from the ghastly as shit writing. I thought she'd get a cuck to ghostwrite it for her but it's bad enough she might have actually done it herself. Couldn't find a dick to suck I guess.

Miles when written well can be a fun character from what very little I remember; he's a decent bit different take from Peter, more goofy than wisecracking. The biggest issue I had with him was they tried to shove all the minorities in him at one point, and then decided to basically give him a shit ton more support than Peter ever did, but the idea is there.

I don't mind him as a character; he's kind of like a luckier Ms. Marvel in that way (and yes, Kamala at one point wasn't shit I know it's weird).
