Unless he killed her himself and staged the scene to look like a suicide, he's not get arrested for that. They would have to prove that he deliberately did things to drive her to suicide, and even that's unlikely. He's not that smart or calculating. What happened was he was his usual self-centered self, and broke up with her because he expected she'd degrade herself even more to get him to take her back, and no one was anticipating that someone who self-mutilates and exhibits bizarre behavior might not be the most stable of people. I can totally see him getting busted for soliciting an underaged girl though.

What confirms they don't care for me is that the overall response to her death was very minimal from what I've seen? If you compare it to other cases like Amanda Todd, which blew up because her parents endlessly campaigned through the media. Julie's death only generated a single article as far as I'm aware and maybe one or two instances of it being used as to why this place should be shut down and then we heard no more about it. Granted, not every suicide gets lots of media attention but, considering what we know about Julie's parents, it seems to me like they're either semi aware they screwed up and/or they just don't give a shit about her.
I also believe that she didn't officially have a gravestone until months after her death? Sorry if I've got this wrong but that alone should've given her family a prime reason to milk some attention from her death and they still didn't go for it, outside of doing a fundraiser with minimal details on what went down. Overall, very strange and uncaring individuals.

Headstones aren't usually placed for several months because the ground needs time to settle. There was a picture of Julie's plaque posted on 19 August, 2016 - just over 7 weeks after her death - so it was actually placed quite early.
One of the weirder things in the time immediately after Julie's death was her mother and her then boyfriend (now husband) getting engaged. Most people who lose a child are too shattered to even think about the future for quite a long time - but then we're talking about a woman who had already abandoned her children before.

Yeah, I recall seeing that on the mother's FB and thinking that was beyond strange. I know people deal with grief in different ways and all that but, coupled with the negligence of this family, it's just them washing their hands of the matter and focusing on themselves as usual. I know I'm late with this whole musing about the family but I decided to catch up on this drama and not only noticed a complete lack of coverage on her death, but a shortage of testimonies on who Julie actually was to her friends and family. It seems they were meh about letting their daughter die a stranger and letting a lolcow thread be the very first thing that shows up about her in a Google search.

It seems that Mike has done a lot of things that are lolcow worthy, but he can't seem to be a standalone lolcow. His status seems to be codependent on other people. Ever since the death of the shed princess, he just faded into obscurity because he's too damn pathetic to function on his own.
