Let's see....1580 subs (400 of which are Tier 3)...annnnnnd 200 or less viewers on stream an hour after it starts. Yeah, seems legit.

Someone posted earlier that DSP was fourth in all of Twitch in Tier 3 subs and 1st place had 320.
Now that DSP got 200 more, DSP has more Tier 3 subs than literally anyone else on all of Twitch. Think about that.
It’s his own fault. Why is he still playing this fucking game? He’s obsessed with being this variety streamer but all it does is stretch out every playthrough for months and people lose interest, just focus on the fucking games and his viewers would be a little higher.Let's see....1580 subs (400 of which are Tier 3)...annnnnnd 200 or less viewers on stream an hour after it starts. Had a thought that broke me out in a cold sweat: Lord God, what if a piglet is on the way? Is this mythical $16k the first donation drive for Philip Burnell II, Esq., Long May He Reign?
Nothing to think about, one nut job busted a nut money wise over a middle age man online, I’ll think about it when it’s genuine.Someone posted earlier that DSP was fourth in all of Twitch in Tier 3 subs and 1st place had 320.

phil was extra salty tonight. he was pissy when the stream started. soemthing tells me emerald seven told him he wasnt giving him more subs or maybe is stopping???? idk. but he is in a piss ass mood for someone who just got $9k for nothing.
I like how Phil's relationship with Twitch is a microcosm of how morally bankrupt modern Internet society is. Evil, at least to those who hold power in the interwebs these days is simply a synonym for political opponent or an inconvenience. Phil can break rules to his hearts content and bully relentlessly. The big Silicon Valley Corp that will permanently ban a nobody for an offhand bad word and puts on a smiling fuzzy mask of kindness and moral superiority will let him get away with it because he's not a certain type of political figure, which somedays seems to be the only thing these companies go after with enthusiasm, and his bad deeds haven't gone viral in awhile, and he's earning them a bit of dosh. Its like those old stories about the stereotypical corrupt churchmen all over again.
Twitch won't do a thing even if it turns out to be a stolen credit card. As long as they get the money, they don't give a shit
Twitch won't do a thing even if it turns out to be a stolen credit card. As long as they get the money, they don't give a shit. They certainly won't blame Phil for anything, considering they already treat him like a sped that needs to be protected, and as far as anyone knows there's no evidence he's involved in this in any way. They won't take away the money, the subs or block any features for him (if for no other reason than to not bother the poor customer support people with his complaining). I highly doubt they'd investigate the matter any further than just asking Phil if he knew anything about it, and when he denies it they'll leave it at that. The only way something could happen is if emerald tries to say he conspired with Phil, which is very unlikely and even then Phil has plausible deniability, unless he really is that dumb and left a trail leading right to him.
Disagree. It looks like Twitch would be on the hook for accepting the stolen CC, at least according to this: https://www.nerdwallet.com/blog/credit-cards/merchants-victims-credit-card-fraud/
The question is whether there's a threshold they pay attention to to actually take some action. Like, for one Tier 1 sub, they would happily eat it. For the 700 Tier 1s and 400 Tier 3s, where they would pay out $8700+? Bet even the Amazon-backed company is going to be doing some digging.
Outside of being a manipulative scumbag and starting the begathon in the first place, this is one of the rare situations where Phil can actually claim he didn't do anything wrong. I don't think Phil is capable of a 4d chess move like committing credit card fraud with one of his fans. There are a lot of reasons why. Phil is too paranoid for something like that for one, and we've already seen that Phil is shit at trying to hide things like this. Look at how much damage he caused by releasing those emails he thought would make him look better, but just showed multiple times that he's willing to hide donations.
Those emails also show Phil would rather be shady as fuck and hide things from his viewers, so even if he did somehow decide to scheme with one of his fans, it seems unlikely he'd propose such a public system, especially since I think even Phil is self aware enough to realize after Tut that people are naturally going to talk about the mass gifting of subs. Phil also genuinely seems more interested in tips, even in light of all the subs he's getting, because tips are immediate. I don't think Phil would have the patience to run a scam like this. Just look at how Phil acted with that statue dude. When he didn't respond in a few hours, Phil got all pissy and assumed the guy was a troll.
From a detractor standpoint, or hell, even just a casual thread reader, I wish it was a credit card scheme or something nefarious because that is way more exciting than the reality of the situation. I think this is just some sad, loyal paypig with nothing better to do with their money. I don't even think it is necessarily a whale, I'm guessing it is someone who has been saving up for a large gift donation at the end of the year. I think the best case scenario is it turns out to be some first falcon troll nonsense and we get to laugh at them for being Tut 2.0, or, they are actually successful and then we get a legendary spergout from DSP.
