12/19/18 Second Prestream - Call Of Duty Black Ops 4 Blackout Run and Camp Stream: Jeezus, This Guy *SHAKE HEAD IN DISGUST*

I'm not going to HARP ON IT! I'm not going to give you a giant plug segment tonight! You guys know all about CHEERING, SUBBING, TIPPING, and everything. I'm not going to bother you will all that shit! All right? But, I'm just tell- just to let you know, I DO STILL NEED YOUR HELP, to get through a couple of months before February hits! Then, WE can worry about, 'Oh, okay, everything else.' All right? *THROAT CLEAR*"
[/SPOILER]

*Might add more later*

I would like to point out I was banned once for saying he didn't need to do the entire song and dance every prestream, it's like 3 minutes long.

Extract from flatsoda pre stream download:

"I get those funds right away! I can put them towards BILLS!

I can put them towards, you know, MANY THINGS that I NEED FUNDS for.

So, thank you to anyone who contributes in anyway tonight. BUT, in particular TIPPING ME as well."

Many things....

Doesn't even hide it (or not smart enough to keep his story straight) that all his money doesn't go to the 'mysterious bills' that must be paid every day, and multiple times on Sunday evenings

This is what I find most annoying - the daily begging, shilling & crying broke at the expense of his 'fans' that he has no regard for

I listened to gtg the other day and he had an excellent point about the begging. There is nothing for Phil to lose. He is well aware of his reputation. He knows that it ranges from people hating him and wishing they could beat him up at worst to simply staying away because he is too toxic at best. Even if he somehow decides to seek a job you can bet that plenty of detractors will make his bosses/coworkers fully aware of what Phil is all about. So since it is already a foregone conclusion that he'll remain the internet's toilet forever there is no reason for him to not stoop that low and beg every single day for money. What can honestly turn out worse for him?

And no, I don't have any pity for his fans, its their decision and if they let themselves get milked like this they deserve it.

It makes him look so sleazy. Like come on dude, these people know how to send you fucking money, save it for every other day or something. This is just darks short attention span theory again though, if he doesn’t remind everyone everyday they’ll all forget and never contribute again!

I disagree. I can't remember where I read it so I can't give attribution but someone sat down and proved demonstrably that Phil makes more money when he blatantly asks for it. Don't ask me how or why that is (spoiler, you know, :autism:, etc., etc.) but it's the case and for as dumb as he may or may not be he knows how to get blood from the stone that is his fanbase. His rambling, go-nowhere presentational style benefits him here - he can stretch a simple message like "money me, money now" out to twenty or thirty minutes and the longer he does the more donations he's liable to receive.

but Phil just saying "Give me money now paypigs," would be a lot more honest than several hour long begathons filled with excuses

But have you ever known him to be completely honest about anything? Mr. Realest Mother-Effer on the Internet? Sir Nothing-I-Could-Do? Phil Burnell, King of De Nial?

Phil's playbook is so small but it works for him and that's all he needs:

1. Make claims justifying your value.

2. Vehemently deny all evidence to the contrary. If you can't flatly deny it, identify the source to be biased against you.

3. Demand compensation based on claimed value. Reinforce with real, falsified, or exaggerated victimization.

This is how Dave crafts every narrative. He isn't always, but when a new saga starts, he's the writer. It's when he starts acting out like a teenager that his control over the show gets away from him and other people are able to take over. I'm not saying that Dave is an evil genius; this game isn't new. He's either observational enough to have realized it works for him or he fell into it via pigroach luck but whatever the case, dollar signs are a strong reinforcement for behavior and very easy to track as a measure of scam success. He can read his bank balance and that's all he needs to see whether or not what he's doing works.

so perhaps Phil's scams no longer working is when he's a bit more older and his health problems get much worse then? Seems about right

Can't imagine watching a 50 year-old darksfadil begging for spare change on twitch (or the next platform that will be famous at the time).

This, however, makes me think that If he has enough brain cells to jump to another platform (such as stream.me, or anything that will be the trend after twitch) and get a following there, he might as well keep making a decent living off streaming.

Anyways, seeing how he's degrading in quality and he's getting lazier by the day (god do I hate it when he starts explaining all the shit normal people do on a daily basis AND going to work, such as, "gotta cook, eat, clean after myself, go up the stairs, set up the stream...", its fucking pathetic) there's the possibility that his fanbase will just grow up and gtfo, just like it did on youtube.

Possibly, but only if it make him even more ornery or combative. If he has a genuine health scare expect to see an hour-long video about it in the same vein as when Leanna had her panic attack only with much more obvious begging. A gout attack, memetastic as that is, would probably throw a wrench in his plans as he'll be crabbier than usual. If he gets hit with Type 2 or something like that, though, he'll jump on that sympathy train in a heartbeat.

Personally I expect he's already been told by a doctor that he's borderline for something stemming from his lifestyle and that's why he's floated the ambiguous "health issues" in the past to prime that pump. Whether or not he's actually gotten worse is immaterial, at least for his purposes. If something is wrong, he can claim it whenever he wants. I think it's just a matter of making the issue confirmed that's making him hold back. "Tax troubles" and "gonna lose my house, dood" are matters that he doesn't need to prove and don't require him to adjust his lifestyle to avoid scrutiny from his paypigs.

A health concern is another matter. He has to be very careful selecting something if he's malingering, because many of them have symptoms that are visible, and all of them require a shift in lifestyle to some degree. He'd need to be more careful with what he drunkposts on Twitter, which is something I think even he knows he has trouble with, and the Instagram bragging about what he has for dinner would need to stop entirely, though it does seem like Kat has long stopped cooking for him.

Tl;dr the health scare saga would be a difficult one for Dave to write and I think he knows it. That's why he hasn't played that card yet.

Edit to add this: there's an additional concern to Phil bringing up a concrete health issue. Few things anger people more, or bring them closer together in the name of spite, than someone milking a disease for sympathy dollars. Want to see a cynic lose their shit? Let them find out that some douchebag on the internet is claiming to have the same illness his little sister has been suffering with for five years. Everybody has a loved one in their life who's struggling with something health-related so if Phil is going to fake something or, to a lesser degree, not take a genuine issue seriously while still asking for extra money for medical bills, he'd better be goddamn careful about it.

I can. There will be a whole new generation of detractors running across old man Burnell’s virtual lawn. He’ll be the fucking Boo Radley of the internet, except he’ll shake down little kids for their spare bits.

If we're just speculating, couldn't the mystery health issue be depression? I believe the timeline was: Mentioning mystery health issue > mentioning having depression > never mentioning mystery health issue again.
I find it unlikely that he wouldn't play that card already, so what if the card is already played? We just didn't care.

And actually live up to every facet of his boogeyman urban lore.

Fuck no my dude. "Muh Depreshin" was just the thoroughly offensive primer, & his version of damage control for all of Twitter shitting down his throat for his quarter-witted shill khammentary.

He's holding on to the "Muh Hilth Ishyuz" as a chess piece for if/when he starts running into too much static for "Muh Tacksis".

I'd also like to point out that despite his claims, even without emerald's gifted subs, Phil was actually slightly above pace for the month, so he should have plenty to pay MUH BILLS.

Hope all the Nov. patrons are hyped. Paid that $5+ to be given 'the power to nominate and vote on games' that "if we get bored of those games" D$P "has the ability, obviously to switch over maybe do some Smash Brothers, maybe do some BlackOut..." He "has the ability to on the fly adjust and do other stuff if 'he' wants to, okay." Bored, meaning if D$P isn't having fun playing the games nominated as they aren't big Triple A Titles so he knows nothing about them and most likely has little to no desire to even try.
...and he wonders why his Pay-me-tons is declining...

I mean if he just stopped putting information on the internet detractors would have no power over him.

I could believe this if I believed Dark ever goes to the doctor. You KNOW that would be on his list of hardcore work that he has to do.

I think he's self diagnosed himself with shit.
