As a comic book fan and an observer he's more of the antithesis to Rob. Rob pretty much created an entire era around his work while Shad just leeches onto to popular topics to make a joke to get noticed.
I like the way both people break down the ideals of his art and the style of his art. Even trying to be objective they make some good points on how he's gotten a bit more simple in his way he constructs art and the "edginess" he tries to hold onto but has ran dry.

He understands his own skill as an artist was challenged and wanted to do something about it. Watching that video from the Zol guy about Shad and when Shad explains why he does his shock value stuff it boils down to less of why I do it and just a "I do it because no one else will" It's an ego driven answer of trying to be unique by being the most flamboyant of peacocks. I got the feeling he doesn't care that much about improving art as people don't come to him for his artwork even with the harsh and loud criticism he knows people like seeing his opinion on things which is just a cheapshot joke at something the internet has made popular.
