the actual reason is (from what i gather from Jake's post) is that because the character has two split personalities represented by two different characters, and one is more eccentric than the other, he is trans.
I do love Jake's backtracking of 'im not this minority so sorry if im wrong' like people expect low functioning autists to be able to critique the performances in What's Eating Gilbert Grape.

Yeah she is but Jake has mentioned before that she tried to get him diagnosed with autism - it sounds like something which happened after he failed to launch, though, not during his childhood.

I love that Jake wants someone to act as his unpaid personal assistant, as if he's far too busy to keep track of what's on when himself.

If "representation matters" you'd think Jake would be all over rich cache of gay/trans fiction readily accessible on Kindle, where character are openly non-straight/cis instead of fanficing shit in his mind.

Like freezing ketchup and calling it ice-cream when you can get real ice-cream.

If it was just about representation, then yes, he could do that. All the troons who constantly claim characters are trans (and places like the Mary Sue, according to a post I didn't read) don't actually want to find what they want. They want to make mainstream characters trans so they can have validation and popularity by association, and to stick it to the cis scum by 'making' their characters trans so they have to deal with it.

Of course, most people just think they're being insane. But it's clearly not about simple representation, no matter how much they pretend. They just want to rewrite popular culture so they can be more important and their 'oppressors' have to deal with their troon pride. And if it happens to strongly reinforce gender roles and actually do harm to their supposed goals, well that's the price they've shown themselves more than willing to pay just to try and try and rub cis faces in their queerdom.

Any test for autism should include a writing sample to check capitalization. Chris has the definitive autistic style of capitalization. Jake isn't quite there but has a hint of it where he'll do it when he wants to emphasize something, not realizing that there much better ways to do so that don't make you look quite as exceptional.

I know that it seems to be almost a convention on twitter to do shit like that but if anything that proves my point, not hurts it.

I’d definitely say Jake was autistic. Not as obviously as ADF, but it’s there. The narrow but obsessive range of interests, the distinctive phrases he uses, the dislike of change, the anger over things outside his control, the failure to engage with the real world, the repetitive droning on over boring subjects, the avoidance of unfamiliar situations, the slovenly appearance, the belief that he’s trans, the supposed asexuality and the total incomprehension of the world outside of his direct experience all point to undiagnosed ‘tism.

I didn’t mean to write such a long run-on sentence there, but more and more symptoms kept occurring to me.
