I think it's much more likely Chris just has untreated diabetes and is suffering neuropathy. The tingling and electrical sensations are nerves spontaneously firing due to damage.

Chris' symptoms being linked to a simple partial seizure does not preclude diabetes. Seizures have several known (including stress, caffeine, and diabetes) and unknown causes, most of which are not epilepsy.

It's much likelier that he's simply bullshitting, though.

I think he's being True and Honest. He's been forthcoming about headaches, dizziness, stress, his mind going blank, etc... in the past. It's hard to tell intensity of his symptoms, though.

So I can only see this ending 1 of 3 ways.. events happening in the world will be blamed for the merge being “delayed” over and over again and it will just be happening indefinitely until Chris dies or gets committed since he will not ever admit he was wrong and it isn’t real.

Third and possibly saddest ending is that Idea Guys convince him that something he did stopped the merge and it’s all his fault that it will not happen. Who knows what he might do if he got convinced of that.
