What do you do when you forget your partner's birthday? You go on r/waifuism and ask what you should do!
And here's thread topic that pops up occasionally.
Most of the responses are the usual "no" or the very implausible "Yes, and everyone is so supportive!" There was also this one which I don't understand because I'm not familiar with the character.
His waifu is from an anime called Komodo no Jikan. It's an ecchi anime where the main character is a 9 year old girl that wants her teachers dick. Basically Every Pedo's Wet Dream: The Anime.

This guy is... interesting. he acknowledges that she can never be his true waifu because she ended up with her true love in the source material.
I don't know who those other characters are that he "crushed" on; if they're kids as well.
And he's not some goofy 15 year old, either. Far from it.
His posts indicate that he's probably in his 40s, at least. "Depends what the meaning of is, is" jokes; crushed on Jo Grant from 1970s Doctor Who when he was younger (though he says this was through re-runs, not the original 70s broadcasts), his "song" he identified for his waifu is Billy Joel's "Always a Woman to Me." This guy is old.But maybe she could still understand his love...
And he realizes how this looks to people--rare self awareness.
And here's some advice for a young whippersnapper.
At the risk of playing armchair psychologist, I wonder if this guy really is an actual pedophile fixating on this character (in a she's-not-my-waifu/unrequited manner) as a way to, I don't know, sublimate his urges and keep from doing something in the "3D" world. I don't know. But this guy is definitely on the creepy end of the waifuist spectrum for me.

He doesn't even have the excuse of "She's a 700 year old maid dragon!", "She's a robot who was built a year ago", or "She's really 18, she just has a flat chest!" Rin is unambiguously a child, no matter how you look at it.
Been kind of slow on r/waifuism--mostly bullshit Christmas pictures and their interminably boring "what to you and your SO do for the holidays" stuff. But that weirdo Chiakifluff guy is back--he wrote some of the terrible poetry cited a few pages upthread, but he had some self-awareness about that on twitter though:
And on Christmas Eve, our buddy Blake Lubbers retweeted some pics of his "daughters" including this one, which might make sense in context, but...
But, remember, these characters aren't lolis!
Of course, the guy who originally tweeted that creepy pic describes himself this way:
So the guy who loves lolis tweets pics of them, so that says to me that they're probably loli-ish. Of all the people with kidfus out there, Blake certainly seems to have the most inappropriately romanticized/sexualized way of presenting them. I mean, on his twitter, he doesn't usually mention that they're his "daughters"--he just comes across a freak postin/rt'ing pics of uncomfortable pics of little cartoon girls.
Sorry for the consecutive posts, but it's amazing/troubling how many of these waifuists' self esteem is so low they feel unworthy of a partner that doesn't even exist.
And then the relationship got worse...
But it's okay now, I think?
Of course there's something else going on in the background. This person may be worth watching.
Good start, all it needs is a little more elitism and poly-drama and we'd have r/waifuism in three posts.
Curious if there's really nothing to top Squidward, I went digging.
Unfortunately they all seem pretty milquetoast, so that's out. I guess we'll have to settle for Squiddie. Surely someone with such...esoteric taste is exceptional enough to post something interesting?
Naturally, Squidward himself's driving some of the best stuff.
I don't think this one's been posted. It's the thousand yard that stare that really sells it for me. Squid's died and gone to his own personal hell.

From the r/waifuempire splinter faction, we have this piece of exceptionalism, "Rebuttals to 6 common self defeating waifu thoughts."
"Do deformed or handicapped babies deserve love? Of course they do." Yes, they are innocent victims of accident or genetics. You are a nominal adult who has deluded themselves into thinking they're in a "relationship" with a fictional character while jerking off onto a pillow. You deserve nothing but shame and derision.
If we ever needed more evidence that these people have no idea how actual relationships or, indeed, human contact work, this is pretty good.
So I just put together that "Closetweeb" from r/waifuism is "ClosetSkeleton" from the Discord.
And at some point, for some reason, he met up with Blake Lubbers IRL.
Wonder what they were doing. Probably just hanging out at the park sniffing bike seats or something.

Is this widespread fever for "fictional characters being real" a new thing? There's this "waifu" thing, "pop culture paganism," not to mention the "Dimensional Merge."
Maybe I'm being naive, but none of this was even a thing just 10-20 years ago.
