Lol, once again Jake just flat out lies. Good that he doesn’t specify 9 am or 9 pm because that lazy fat fuck hasn’t gotten out of bed before noon for ages. Having take the welfare medi-cab to the therapy his mom probably insists on is probably the only reason he might be out of the house during daylight hours.

I can only imagine how his therapist dreads his appointments which I have a feeling are just Jake’s attempt to try and get a disability tugboat instead of a real job. It won’t happen, he would have better luck gaining some more weight to get a tugboat for being a morbidly obese diabetic wreck.

I think that’s his fate anyway, he already looks twice his age. He will be dead by 55 but have the health and mobility of a 90 year old by age 45.

You can work up to a certain amount while on the tugboat, in fact, in many cases, it's encouraged for people who haven't ever worked, or haven't worked in a long time. You start part-time, then as you gain work skills, you transition to full-time and go off the tugboat, but since you've been approved, if you ever get where you can't work, you can go back on it with less fuss than the initial application. Job training is usually available as well. There are literally dozens of ways Jake could have afforded to move out by now and have his own Secret Gamer Gnome lair from which to battle Nazi-TERF-Gamergaters. But he'd have to do things for himself, and that simply can't happen.

I work with people heavier than Jake. They just have really sturdy chairs. His aversion to work is the major stumbling block, and so far, being lazy isn't a recognized disability. A while back, I read a book on sociopathy, and it posited that it can manifest in an absolute refusal to work or do anything to help around the house. Sociopathy is manifested by a disregard for social conventions and other people's rights. I've never seen any other writing about it, but it does make sense. Jake lies as easily as most of us change pants. He's flat out stated he expects someone to support him without anything in return. He's very deceptive. Yeah, he's terrible at it, but he tries to fool others, so it counts. Some NEETs are proud of the fact they do nothing to help out whomever they're living with (usually their parents). They will never improve on their own. The only way Jake is going to get better is to cut him off and his mom will have to stand her ground. I imagine in that case Jake would end up very much like Terra, and coast from one sucker's couch to another.

I got up at 6:30 for a job starting at 9. I had a job that started at 6:30am which required me to be up at 4:30 because of the commute. I've worked the overnight shift, and I'm sure a lot of people here have as well. Given his bizarre sleep cycle, it might work for him to get an overnight stocking position where he doesn't have to talk to the customers and can communicate in grunts to his coworkers. But that would require him to follow directions and we saw how upset he got when he was asked to do something other than the job he was hired for. I was maintenance at Wal-Mart, and I stocked, set up displays, tore them down, chased beggars from the parking lot, and dueled homeless people for our shopping carts (I loved that part). I liked it there given how easy it was and the fact that I walked 2-3 miles a day in there. I lost 40 pounds while employed there. It might do Jake some good.
